1.1- Cincinnati Bengals- QB Carson Palmer- USC The Bengals land the top QB in this class Carson Palmer, the 21 year old stands 6'5" 235 lbs. and already equipped with a rocket arm and pin point accuracy, he'll just need to work on his football IQ, he has the attributes to be a top tier PTF QB for years to come.
1.2- Detroit Lions- QB Brooks Bollinger- Wisconsin Bollinger may not have the size of Palmer at 6'1" 205 lbs but he does have the same cannon arm and even better accuracy, he does take a slight hit in football IQ but I see a bright future in Detroit after we beat him up a bunch that is.
1.3- Pittsburgh Steelers- QB Rex Grossman- Florida The Steelers jumped up to #3 overall giving away their future 1 and stud WR Hines Ward in the process so if this is anything other than a QB I'd be shocked. Grossman has the same body type as Bollinger at 6'1" 225 lbs. but he has decent football IQ or at least better than the others (pre skew). He can work on his THP in training camp and has excellent starting THA.
1.4- Chicago Bears- QB Chris Simms- Texas Simms is another big bodied QB in the mold of Palmer at 6'4" 230 lbs, he doesn't have the howitzer arm but with training camp can work on that aspect on the other hand his THA borderline elite and has decent starting IQ. The division is going to be tough once these guys get their attributes up.
1.5- Dallas Cowboys- WR Andre Johnson- Miami The Cowboys say screw QB and go out and get the best WR in the draft (barring skew between him and Boldin). Andre has the size at 6'3" 229 that most GM's prefer. He has excellent starting AWR, elite hands, elite JMP and should blow past most corners in this league, thank goodness Quincy Carter is the QB.
1.6- Arizona Cardinals- WR Anquan Boldin- Florida State If Andre Johnson is 1A than Anquan Boldin is definitely 1B, at 6'1" 220 lbs. he has plenty of size, he's also the fastest WR in this class (pre skew) and should be a nightmare to try and cover for defenses. This would be an excellent start for the Cards as he has pro bowl qualities right out of the gate.
1.7- Houston Texans- LT Jordan Gross- Utah GM AC gets the top LT in this class with quick feet, great burst off the LOS, he'll be able to handle any type of rusher with his STR, excellent starting football IQ with above average pass blocking and elite run blocking. He no doubt will be the anchor of this OL for many years to come .
1.8- Jacksonville Jaguars- CB Terrance Newman- Kansas State The Jags are now running to the podium as they get a huge need taken care of in their secondary with possibly the best player in this class, other than being 5'10" he is a stud all across the board from his blazing speed, his excellent football awareness, ball hawking ability and top notch tackling. He could be up for DROY, he's got my vote for sure.
1.9- Carolina Panthers- QB Dave Ragone- Louisville I'm starting to sound like a broken record with these QB's but Ragone is in the similar build as the rest at 6'3" 221 lbs, his AWR wasn't as good which is why he dropped a little bit but his arm talent is top tier and above average THA will definitely make him sought after.
1.10- Baltimore Ravens- WR Brandon Lloyd- Illinois I was almost going to go with another WR here but they already have size with Taylor at 6'3" so I went with the speedy Brandon Lloyd who has another gear that most don't, he has average hands but can easily be worked on in TC and with progression, you can't teach speed.
1.11- Seattle Seahawks- SS Troy Polamalu- USC By far my favorite player in this draft class and thank goodness he did not disappoint. He has game wrecking speed and already an elite tackler, lucky for the NFC West that he'll have to work on the hands for a few seasons before he becomes a true ball hawk. I think he'll be 1 of the best in the league by the time it's all said and done.
1.12- St. Louis Rams- CB Julian Battle- Tennessee Battle would be an excellent addition paired next to Butler or Fisher and would really give that secondary a boost. There are only 2 others his size at 6'2"205 lbs. so he should have no troubles with the WR in the PTF.
1.13- Washington Redskins- OG Kris Dielman- Indiana Dielman is the only G I even would consider in round 1 and although this may be a bit high for the position I think OL right now are at a premium. He's got the size most GM's prefer at 6'4" 320 lbs, he has by far the most football AWR and his run/pass blocking are top tier to boderline elite right from the start so you can't ask for much better than an instant starter at 1.13.
1.14- Miami Dolphins- OLB E.J. Henderson- Maryland Henderson is an absolute stud, I can't find a single flaw with him other than maybe TAK being a bit lower. He can play in either the 3-4 or 4-3 schemes and can play at any LB position and be dominant, his speed/acc combo is off the charts and has the STR to shed tackles with ease. He will instantly start for the Dolphins and play at a very high level from day 1.
1.15- Minnesota Vikings- CB Marcus Trufant- Washington State I had Justin taking Terrance Newman at #3 overall and I don't see anything has changed my mind. Trufant would start opposite of Williams, he's not a finished product by any means and will need to work on some things like his SPD through training camp but his AWR is bordering above average, elite closing speed, an above average ball hawk with excellent starting TAK. Like most rookies in this range with work he should be a solid starting caliber corner.
1.16- Kansas City Chiefs- DE Earl Cochran- Alabama State Cochran would be an excellent addition to the Chiefs DL, Hicks is solid but he's more of a RDE candidate rather than a pass rusher. His 94 SPD if it sticks is unreal and poses a real threat to the AFC West QB's (We're looking at you Drew Brees), his size and SPD combo are like nothing we've seen in quite some time.
1.17- New Orleans Saints- WR Kassim Osgood- San Diego State This to me just seems like a Neal pick, if he skews upwards he could easily go higher, his SPD needs work but at 6'5" and 80 CTH theres alot to like here. After losing Horn in FA potentially Osgood would be asolid WR 1 for the Saints.
1.18- Miami Dolphins- LT Jon Stinchcomb- Georgia He'll be a plug and play LT that will start day 1. At 6'5" 315 lbs. he's quite the monster plus very athletic which should make him excellent when they need to pull him out to 1 side or another. He'll work on his STR/PBK in training camp.
1.19- New England Patriots- RB Larry Johnson- Penn State Larry Johnson is a beast a 6'1" 235 lbs., the STR to plow right through you, the athleticism to fly by you and as an added bonus he can even catch out of the backfield. I would not want to get in the way of this freight train.
1.20- Denver Broncos- CB Dennis Weathersby- OregonState Weathersby is all athlete, 6'1" 204 lbs., runs like the wind, can close on the ball with ease, will fight for every jump ball but needs to work on the rest but once he does he'll be top notch in the league.
1.21- Cleveland Browns- OLB Victor Hobson- Tennessee An underrated prospect but most likely due to the fact that he's probably a 4-3 LB only but most probably use that scheme anyways. he's got excellent size, athletic but unlike most of the other LB in this class he actually has top tier TAK..
1.22- New York Jets- CB Charles Tillman- UL Lafayette Tillman is another CB with great size at 6'2" 210 lbs. many will be turned off by his age but there is no denying he's an athlete but will need to work on his skills through training camp and progression, I see big things from this CB class and Tillman.
1.23- New England Patriots- DE Ty Warren- Texas A&M Warren is going to be another nightmare for offensive coordinators. He has excellent size at 6'5" 300 lbs. but it's his athletic ability to not only get to RB behind the los but also QB's. I have no doubt he's going to leave a trail of havok in the AFC East.
1.24- Denver Broncos- QB Byron Leftwich- Marshall Leftwich has the size at 6'5" 250 lbs to dominate. His weakness is a weak arm but solid accuracy, with some tender loving care he could absolutely be a franchise QB in the PTF. Some trainging camp love will definitely be needed but I see tons of potential and there is an immediate need at QB.
1.25- New York Giants- SS Hanik Milligan- Houston Milligan is another excellent SS in this class, he;s not only 6'3" 200 lbs but also has the speed to keep up with backs/TE, the closing speed to break on the ball, elite JMP to go for the contested catches and elite TAK.
1.26- San Francisco 49ers- DT Anthony Adams- Penn State Adams would thrive in any scheme but i'd probably prefer him in a 4-3 due to his lack of TAK could be an issue. His STR is outstanding and his SPD/AGI/ACC make him a dual threat to stop the run but also get to the QB.
1.27- Tennessee Titans- ILB Antwan Peek- Cincinnati Peek is a perfect candidate for their 3-4 scheme at 6'3" 255 lbs., His athleticism is excellent, his STR is above average, his TAK needs work but with training camp and progression he'll be fine.
1.28- Tennessee Titans- LT Makoa Freitas- Arizona The Titans get one half of the OL fixed with the addition of Freitas, he gives them an efficient run/pass blocker right out of the gate with quick feet and above average athleticism. He'll start right away as a plug and play tackle.
1.29- Miami Dolphins- SS Ken Hamlin- Arkansas The Dolphins have shored up some big needs in round 1 this time shoring up the secondary with SS Ken Hamlin. He's got excellent size at 6'2", top tier SPD/ACC combo, average starting football IQ, elite JMP and above average tackling.
1.30- Dallas Cowboys- RB Willis McGahee- Miami The Cowboys add another weapon on offense. Mcgahee has top tier STR of a bruising hard nosed runner able to run through you and over you if need be. His SPD can be worked on in training camp but the rest of his attributes are excellent. Once the Cowboys get their QB watch out,
1.31- New York Giants- OLB Matt Wilhelm- Ohio State The Giants continue to shore up the defense this time with OLB Matt Wilhelm who also can play in any scheme fit with his size/STR combo. He'll have to work on some things at the next level but there is alot of potential there with his speed off the line.
1.32- Tampa Bay Buccaneers- DE DeWayne White- Louisville With no immediate needs other than possible a center than White could definitely be seen as an upgrade. He;s got great size at 6'2" 273 lbs., his 79 STR will allow him to play in either the 304 or 4-3 and should be a solid starter for them.
