| PICK | TEAM | PLAYER | ANALYSIS |
| 1.01 | | QB Carson Palmer | I think this one is a no brainer. Palmer to the Bengals seems like the right thing and I can't imagine that Phil would want to do anything else. Palmer dons the stripes. |
| 1.02 | | SS Troy Polumalu | A lot of people are thinking this will be another quarterback or a wide receiver, but I actually think the Lions are going to grab the absolute UNIT that is Troy Polumalu. Hair and all. |
| 1.03 | | QB Rex Grossman | There is no way that the Steelers traded up and didn't plan to choose a quarterback. I also think their target has to be Rex Grossman who easily looks like the second best signal caller in the class. |
| 1.04 | | QB Brooks Bollinger | If there's one thing I know about GM Brent Lachapelle it's that he doesn't care about names. Brooks Bollinger may drop because he's not a well known name, but if Brent thinks he can be the future of the Bears, he'll likely win a couple of Super Bowl MVPs. |
| 1.05 | | WR Anquan Boldin | I truthfully think that GM Apolo Shapiro is going to get the BPA route for this build -- something I tried with the Cowboys in the SFL but it idn't work because of the Evil Mellon Empire. Boldin is too good to fall out of the top 5. |
| 1.06 | | CB Terrence Newman | Getting the top cornerback in the class at 1.06? Yes please, sign me up! I would gladly take Newman at this point if the draft fell this way and I think there's a good chance that it does. |
| 1.07 | | OT Jordan Gross | The Texans have some hope with David Carr under center and I think they give him the chance he never had in real life by drafting him a real offensive line. Also -- don't forget the team that picked here in real life missed their pick. Will AC repeat? |
| 1.08 | | ROLB E.J. Henderson | There's no way this pick isn't E.J. Henderson, right? He could be an absolute unit and even with a bad skew down (remember SPD is broken on LP even though it's bolded), I think that Henderson would make an amazing Jaguar. |
| 1.09 | | CB Marcus Trufant | The league is drafting for the Panthers, so you have to imagine it's going to be BPA (yes, their GM "Leo Kidd" never joined Discord, so a new GM will be announced soon). Trufant looks like a good fit for this squad. |
| 1.10 | | QB Byron Leftwich | With Lefty still on the board, I think Baltimore says siyonara (sp?) to Jeff Blake and begins the Byron Leftwich era in Baltimore. He's a good fit for GM Norbert Huszti's typical build as well. |
| 1.11 | | SS Hanik Milligan | This may be the first big "surprise" of the draft, but Milligan is a 6'3" stud of a player and that's the type of guy that Rock Hewko likes to draft. I wouldn't be surprised to see him come off the board right here. |
| 1.12 | | WR Andre Johnson | This makes me sick, but I think there is a legitimate chance that Andre Johnson drops to the Rams at 12. If they do so, he'll be my worst nightmare for the next decade. |
| 1.13 | | OT Jon Stinchcomb | This may seem a bit odd, but the Titans desperately need somebody on both sides of the offensive line. I think GM Bryan Mellon is trying to move up for Jordan Gross, but in this mock there are no trade ups, so he gets Stinchcomb. |
| 1.14 | | OT Makoa Freitas | People are talking about the early QB run, but I think we'll start to see a run on offensive linemen in the teens. It starts with pick 1.13, but I think the Dolphins look for someone athletic as well and take an early swing with Freitas. |
| 1.15 | | TE Dallas Clark | This might be the easiest pick to slot. The Vikings don't have many holes, but there is a big gaping hole at Tight End. (Yeah, I just read that...I see it.) It's a perfect fit. |
| 1.16 | | QB Chris Simms | I don't see the Chiefs running with Trent Green for long. They are a potential trade up target in this draft, but with Simms still here at 1.16, no reason for them not to trade him. |
| 1.17 | | WR Kassim Osgood | This just feels like the type of player that GM Neal Wintermute will want in New Orleans. I'm looking forward to these Saints teams over the years and I get the feeling Osgood will be front and center. |
| 1.18 | | SS Yeremiah Bell | The Dolphins will take a safety today (or maybe tomorrow), but it's more a question of who. I lean toward Yeremiah Bell who looks like he could be one of the better picks with a decent skew. |
| 1.19 | | CB Dennis Weathersby | A good Oregon State Beaver? You know in my draft classes that will always be the case. A solid pick for the Patriots who are in their championship window right now. |
| 1.20 | | OT Marques Ogden | Ogden is an interesting player. He has horrible RBK, but I think overall he could be a fantastic player. I wouldn't be surprised to see a good GM like Anthony Fernandez take a flyer on him and see. |
| 1.21 | | CB Julian Battle | Not quite sure what the Browns do here (okay, I have a guess, but it's not a good guess). Cornerback makes sense for a team that has a LOT of needs. Hopefully Battle can make an impact. |
| 1.22 | | DT Anthony Adams | There seems to be a bit of a mixed consensus on who the base defensive tackle in this draft is, but I think the Jets are a team more likely to appreciate Adams strengths than other teams. He'll make a good addition to their DL. |
| 1.23 | | DE Clint Mitchell | I think this guy will be a sneaky good player. He has a bit of everything and he's 6'7". I could see someone like New England (who can afford a miss) taking a chance on a player like this and seeing what happens. |
| 1.24 | | CB Charles Tillman | Solid attributes and a big name here may prove well for Tillman. I could see him having a good private workout and the Broncos deciding to take a risk on drafting him. I bet it works out too. |
| 1.25 | | SS Ken Hamlin | I'm very much on the record saying that the safety class is the best in this draft. Ken Hamlin at 25th overall is an absolute steal and I think GM Romeo Mendez would be ecstatic if this happened. |
| 1.26 | | QB Gibran Hamdan | Some people have had Hamdan going as high as top 5, but I think the 20's is where he will actually land. He reminds me a bit of Trey Lance IRL, so this is a much better landing spot for him. |
| 1.27 | | C Ryan Pontbriand | Outside of his weight, Pontbriand looks like an absolute stud. I won't be surprised to see someone take a chance on him and the Redskins seem like one of the squads to do so. |
| 1.28 | | OT Tim Provost | And I think Washington will double down on non-traditional OL picks. Provost is a stud, except that he's weak. But we've learned that STR isn't everything in offensive linemen. |
| 1.29 | | ROLB Victor Hobson | Hobson will likely go before this pick, but if he's still here he fills an immediate need for the Dolphins and I think he could be a solid player. |
| 1.30 | | QB Dave Ragone | Apolo has never drafted a quarterback in the first round -- I think it ends tonight near the end of the draft. Ragone is the type of player that can be developed and I think Dallas is a fantastic situation for him. |
| 1.31 | | CB Blue Adams | This is around where I begin to think the draft becomes "pick your poison". Blue Adams may just be one of the best tacklers left and could make a very good nickel cornerback. |
| 1.32 | | C Bruce Nelson | That's right, two centers in the first round! I think the Buccaneers find the new anchor on their offensive line and end the night with a BANG! |
