2004 PTF MOCK DRAFT V1.0

1.1- San Diego Chargers- QB Eli Manning- Ole Miss
I believe Manning will be the franchise QB the Chargers will land wioth the #1 overall pick (I can't wait to see how he holds up the Chargers jersey). He's a couple years older than Rivers but without knowing the skew of either seems to be the most well rounded with solid football IQ, a rocket arm and pin point accuracy right off the bat He'll come in and throw to a familiar face in Plaxico Burress.

1.2- Arizona Cardinals- QB Philip Rivers- North Carolina State
The Cards also get a franchise QB in the 6'5" 22 year old side arm slinger Philip Rivers. He'll obviously start immediately as he has the solid football IQ, plenty of arm talent and above average THA but can be worked on throughout the season.

1.3- Detroit Lions- FS/CB Sean Taylor- Miami
I rank Sean Taylor as the best player in this draft by a country mile. He has the "IT" factor, he has the size at 6'2" 231 lbs., plenty of STR to rip through tackles to get to the QB, has world class SPD at the safety position. above average AWR, solid hands, elite JMP and top tier tackler who could play as either a S or switch to CB/LB, so many different things you can do with this stud in your lineup.

1.4- Houson Texans- ILB Jonathan Vilma- Miami
Vilma is another stud in this draft, he will quarterback the middle of the defense for years to come. He's going to be a nightmare for offenses, with his athleticism, football IQ, burst and STR to shed tackles to get to the RB or rush the passer. He has the speed to hang with most tight ends and runningbacks and immediately gives the Texans defense a boost.

1.5- Cleveland Browns- WR Larry Fitzgerald- Pittsburgh
The Browns get a 6'3" WR who could top out at 94 SPD/ 94 ACC with some TLC. Fitzgerald is the most well rounded WR in this class with average AWR, top tier CTH and elite JMP. He'd immediately be the WR 1 and give Couch and the rest of the WR on the rposter a real boost.

1.6- New York Giants- WR Reggie Williams- Washington
QB Tony Romo gets a large target in the 6'4" Williams who although doesn't have blazing speed, has solid hands, elite JMP and should be a go to target in the red zone and should be the immediate #1 WR along side of Zuriel Smith.

1.7- Cincinnati Bengals- WR Roy Williams- Texas
Some heavy hitters back to back to back here and another tall WR and back to back Williams'. Williams gives Palmer a tall redzone target who will come in and use those hands and his size on the outside opposite of Chad Johnson to form a formidable duo.

1.8- Denver Broncos- WR Michael Clayton- LSU
Another WR comes off the board, 6'3" Michael Clayton lands with the Broncos and as an added bonus he was a a former Buccaneer. Clayton offers speed but lacks that elite burst, solid hands, above average JMP who should compete immediately for the #1 or #2 WR spot.

1.9- Carolina Panthers- CB DeAngelo Hall- Virginia
The Panthers have to be ecstatic to land Hall here, although he doesn't have that 6'0"+ frame he's probably the most polished corner in this class. great SPD, excellent burst, average AWR and top tier JMP. He should immediately be the #1 CB for Daren who get a real boost in the secondary.

1.10- Miami Dolphins- OLB Gilbert Gardner- Purdue
The Dolphins said "They will not take an OL" at 10 so how about an outside speed rusher? I'd even go as far to say he's the most athletic freak in this draft class, speed personafide, solid football AWR, the STR to bust through tackles, can cover and an average tackler. The big question mark will be his health, will some of these guys make it an entire season, I think it's worth the risk.

1.11- Pittsburgh Steelers- WR Ernest Wilford- Virginia Tech
I'll admit I don't know where to put Wilford, he's the height that all GM's covet at 6'4", unimaginable speed and burst for a guy his size that all secondaries will have trouble with not only CTH but could also be lost for the season on his first hit but I think you have to take a chance otherwise you could miss out.

1.12- Tampa Bay Buccaneers- LT Tyson Clabo - Wake Forest
Clabo is a solid all around OL, He's a good athlete, quick feet able to pull or push, excellent STR to push the pocket, elite pass blocking, above average run blocking and would be an immediate anchor along the OL for the Bucs for a decade plus.

1.13- Kansas City Chiefs- WR Bernard Berrian- Fresno State
Berrian much like Wilford is speed personafide, relies on his downfield quickness to blow by defenders. His hands could be a real problem until he gets that up but when he does catch look out there wont be many who can catch him in the open field.

1.14- New York Jets- CB Keith Smith - McNeese State
Smith offers something the other corners on the jets roster don't, athletic ability. A true athlete with plazing SPD, amazing burst, average football AWR and CTH just don't ask him to tackle..EVER! He would start immediately along side of Abraham and give the secondary a boost.

1.15- Dallas Cowboys- DT Vince Wilfork- Miami
Wilfork is one of my favorite big ugly, that's what I call the big fat, athletic DL. He's a very agile monster at 6'2" 325 lbs. , elite STR able to push the pile, more of a run stuffer than a penetrator but still should cause some chaos in the interior DL. Kennedy can rush the QB while Wilfork can stuff the run.

1.16- Houston Texans- WR Maurice Mann- Nevada
Houston adds a speed WR who should be a solid compliment to Gaffney and Bradford. Mann is another WR in this class with world class speed, garbage hands and elite JMP. If Anthony can give some TLC to his CTH, Mann could be a solid WR in the PTF for a very long time since he has all the traits.

1.17- Chicago Bears- DT Tommie Harris- Oklahoma
Harris is the best DT in this class if you want an interior DL who can get to the QB with his amazing burst off the line while having the 2nd best tackling in the class. Harris and Russell Davis are going to be a formidable duo.

1.18- Carolina Panthers- WR Johnnie Morant- Syracuse
The Panthers landed the stud corner at 9 now come back and add another weapon on offense for Volek. The good thing is that Morant is raw and would better suited for slot WR role which bodes well for his development. He's 6'4", blazing speed, a burner with stone hands seems to be the theme, also with elite JMP.

1.19- Seattle Seahawks- OT/OG Sean Locklear- North Carolina State
The most athletic offensive lineman in this draft class by quite a bit, only 21 years old and I can see the Seahawks move him to LT, his STR is elite but his run and pass blocking are abysmal so I have no idea how that will play out. Once he gets the run and pass block up he will be a superstar but it might be rough sledding until then.

1.20- Jacksonville Jaguars- OLB Charlie Anderson- Ole Miss
Anderson is another stud OLB, hehas excellent athletic ability to either rush the passer or tackle the RB for a loss, he can also drop back into coverage with ease. His STR is elite and will have absolutely no trouble shedding tackles.

1.21- Washington Redskins- DT Randy Starks- Maryland
Starks should have no issues getting to the QB with his above average STR and excellent tackling right out of the gate. By default he'll be the immediate starter along the interior of the DL and should have a solid rookie year in an already stacked defense.

1.22- San Francisco 49ers- QB Cody Pickett- Washington
The 49ers have stated they need a QB well Pickett is definitely raw and another bad INJ debacle but there are some really desparate teams that need a franchise signal caller I'm just not sure this class can provide that other than the top 2. He is the youngest QB in the draft, a decent arm but that accuracy is a concern. AWR is on par with the other QB's in this class and by default would start right away in San Fran.

1.23- Baltimore Ravens- CB Nathan Vasher- Texas
Another smallish freak athlete with world class speed in this draft, world class SPD, average AWR, the AGI to shake defenders out of their cleats with top tier JMP for contested catches which is always a plus considering WR's are getting taller every year. He can start right away next to McCallister giving the Ravens a solid dup in the secondary.

1.24- Cincinnati Bengals- CB Von Hutchins- Ole Miss
Hutchins is a solid addition for the Bengals, what he lacks in height he makes up with pure athletic ability and freakish speed. He could start immediately with his game changing speed booting Winfield to NCB. His CTH was the only thing holding him back from going much higher but it's something that can be worked on throughout the season.

1.25- Houston Texans- OLB Raheem Orr- Rutgers
The Texans really emphasize taking care of the LB core, Vilma in the middle and now Orr on the outside and this is going to be a very athletic group. Orr has the size at 6'3" 260 lbs to play in any scheme fit. An athletic freak of nature who should have no problems getting to the QB, covering TE's or RB's in the flat.

1.26- New Orleans Saints- OT Sean Bubin- Illinois
Bubin will come in and start immediately at LT for the Saints, he has all the makings of a premier LT in the PTF, plenty of size at 6'6", he will be opening both running and passing lanes with his 99 STR, has average run/pass blocking that he'll have to work on but will be an achor on that line for years.

1.27- San Diego Chargers- CB Joey Thomas- Montana State
Thomas is tied for the tallest corner in this class at 6'1", he doesn't have top notch speed and this pick will definitely be skew dependent. He's above average in almost every category or at the very least average and would be a solid pickup if those attributes stay the same or better. I like Manning but his size is a concern and is probably better suited as a NCB, Thomas could start immediately along side of Jammer.

1.28- St. Louis Rams- CB Jeremy LeSueur- Michigan
The Rams secondary gets a boost with one of the taller corners in this class at 6'0" 204 lbs, he has plenty of speed, burst, above average AWR but his 22 CTH is what let him fall down the boards but with some TLC throughout the season that can be worked on.

1.29- Arizona Cardinals- OT Vernon Carey- Miami
The Cards add a 6'5" 340 lbs monster who may not be a true athlete but has quick feet for a man of his stature, has above average STR and solid starting run/pass blocking and should be a plug and play starter at LT right next to last years top pick in LG Kris Diehlman and will be Philip Rivers blindside protector for years to come.

1.30- Green Bay Packers- QB Ben Roethlisberger- Miami Of Ohio
The prodigal son returns and I'm pretty sure he will fall due to his age and ridiculous INJ but at least they gave him pinpoint accuract and solid AWR we'll just need to work on the THP, Big Ben will be Favre's next predecessor.

1.31- Miami Dolphins- OT/OG Scott Wells- Tennessee
Wells isn't the biggest OL nor is he the most athletic but he's above average in almost every other attribute, he'll have no trouble bullying defenses with 96 STR, also an adequate run/pass blocker who can play anywhere along the OL.

1.32- Baltimore Ravens- WR Michael Jenkins- Ohio State
The Ravens took care of the secondary with their 1st pick now come back and add a 6'4" speed WR to help QB Jeff blake and adds another weapon to their arsenal.
