Prime Time Football League- Early Results of the Glass Class

Yes, the "Glass Class" is a play on words but really, let's take a look at VERY production from the players with injury concerns from the first round of our recent dradt . For this article, I will use players with INJ less than 50. I will also include the TGH ratings of the players with INJ less than 50.

Pick 1.12- Tampa Bay Bucs & GM Ian Coyle
WR Rashaun Woods- INJ 28, TGH 14
Injured: NO
Status: Not enough data as he has been WR3 but thus far does not seem to have miseed time or at least has not missed much time.

Pick 1.14- New York Jets & GM Briston Redford
LOLB Gilbert Gardner- INJ6, TGH 2
Injured: NO
Status: Hmm, I'm not sure what's going on with Gardner. It says he is LOLB1 in the Jets depth chart but he has no tackles.

Pick 1.16- Houston Texans & GM AC
WR Earnest Wilford- INJ 8, TGH 9
Inured: YES
Status: He had been starting but got injured and is now set to miss multiple games.

Pick 1.20- Jacksonville Jaguars & GM Gath Pearce
ROLB Raheem Orr- INJ 12, TGH 1
Injured: NO
Status: He is starting and doing well. (Feel free to injure him if you don't mind.)

Pick 1.24- Cincinnati Bengals & GM Big Phil Mellon
TE- Erik Jenson- INJ 40, TGH 46
Injured: No
Status: Starting TE, just not getting stats due to the playbook but again, starting and he is not injured.

Pick 1.26- New Orleans Saints & GM Neal Wintermute
LT- Sean Bubin- INJ 0, TGH 7
Injured: NO
Status: He looks to be staring and is not injured. This has to be a huge win for the Saints and Neal. This could confirm that INJ status doe not affect OL because lets fact it, it does not get any worse than 0!

Pick 1.29- Buffalo Bills & GM Tom Collins
WR Bernard Berrian- INJ 44, TGH 45
Injured: NO
Status: Berrian is starting and doing well! Another win for a veteran GM here with Berrian.

Pick 1.32- Buffalo Bills & GM Tom Collins
CB Shawntae Spencer- INJ 46, TGH 72
Injured: NO

Status: Spencer is starting and doing well! Another win for a veteran GM here with Spencer.

If LOLB Garnder for the Jets is fine and simply hasn't made a tackle yet the "severe" injury rate for the players taken in round 1 od the GLASS CLASS is onlu 12.5%. If Garnder is getting injured early in the games that rate doubles to 25%. Even at 25%, I think that is probably less than what some of us expected. Obviously position plays a lot into this. I may also need to adjust my criteria to round 2 and 3 players. Rookies who are or were starters and on the injured list include:

MLB Ryan Fowler- New Orleans Saints picked at 2.16

CB Von Hutchins- Seattle Seahawks picked at 2.19

QB Craig Krenzel- Chicago Bears picked at 4.17

RG Scott Wells- Denver Broncos picked at 2.27

WR Johnnie Morant- Cincinnati Bengals picked at 2.07

QB John Navarre- Philadelphia Eagles picked at 7.29

What is interesting all of the above rookies would be considered players with injury concerns. Also this article does not take into account small injuries or injuries where players only missed the remaining parts of a game. I know my rookie WR Michael Jenkins got injured in the first game on his first catch. He was out for the rest of the game. After that, I moved him down the depth chart. Thus far it looks like the data may tell us INJ rating at the WR position means alot. I will try to figure out a better way to research the rookie INJ info. This took me longer than I expected and really did not produce what I want. Don't yell at me, I'll do better next time.
