Tim Miller Arrives

PTF Game of the Week

#4 Dallas Cowboys (4–1) at #7 Green Bay Packers (4–2)

“Two NFC powers collide at Lambeau in a matchup dripping with playoff implications.”

The PTF schedule makers couldn’t have scripted it better. The
#4 Dallas Cowboys, winners of four of their last five and one of the NFC’s
stingiest defenses, travel north to frozen Lambeau Field to face the
#7 Green Bay Packers, an offensive buzzsaw led by a quarterback who is putting up
video-game numbers.

Both teams enter Week 7 believing they belong among the NFL’s elite — and on Sunday, only
one will be able to prove it.

Team Trajectories & Common Opponents

Dallas Cowboys Game Results

  • W 24–10 vs Vikings

  • W 24–3 vs Browns

  • L 15–22 vs Redskins

  • BYE

  • W 29–16 vs Giants

  • W 21–17 vs Steelers

Trend: Winners of three straight, allowing just
16.5 PPG during that run. Dallas is winning with balance, toughness, and the
league’s most underrated defense.

Green Bay Packers Game Results

  • W 38–24 vs Panthers

  • W 16–7 vs Chicago

  • W 43–24 vs Colts

  • L 17–23 vs Giants

  • W 34–24 vs Titans

  • L 9–12 vs Lions

Trend: A roller-coaster ride — they can score fast and often, but the
Packers have alternated wins and losses the last three weeks. Still, their offensive
ceiling is as high as anyone’s in the PTF.

Team Statistical Comparison

Cowboys (4–1)

  • Points/Game: 22.8 (14th)

  • Total Offense: 282.4 YPG (24th)

  • Pass Offense: 178.4 YPG (21st)

  • Rush Offense: 104.0 YPG

  • Points Allowed: Top-10 defense

  • Identity: Disciplined, balanced, highly efficient situationally

The Cowboys offense doesn’t overwhelm, but it rarely beats itself. Combined with a defense
that refuses to give up big plays, Dallas forces opponents into long drives and tough decisions.

Packers (4–2)

  • Points/Game: 26.2 (10th)

  • Total Offense: 384.5 YPG (5th)

  • Pass Offense: 279.2 YPG (4th)

  • Rush Offense: 105.3 YPG

  • Identity: Explosive, aggressive, vertical passing machine

Green Bay gains more than 100 yards per game more than Dallas, and they do it
through high-octane deep shots and relentless tempo.

Player Spotlight: Packers Offensive Leaders

Brett Favre – The MVP Candidate

  • 79/127 (62.2%)

  • 1,450 yards

  • 11.42 YPA

  • 9 TD / 1 INT

  • 121.8 passer rating

  • 81-yard long bomb

Favre is turning back the clock with a stunning statline. He leads the PTF in
yards per attempt and is near the top in passer rating. Few quarterbacks push
the ball downfield like Favre — and nobody is doing it with this efficiency.

Ahman Green – The Stabilizer

  • 80 carries, 312 yards (3.9 AVG)

  • 2 TDs

Ahman hasn’t busted loose yet, but he’s keeping defenses honest and giving Favre the
play-action foundation that fuels this offense.

Player Spotlight: Cowboys Offensive Leaders

Drew Brees – The Young Gunslinger

  • 67/143 (46.9%)

  • 941 yards

  • 6.58 YPA

  • 5 TD / 2 INT

  • 67-yard long ball

  • 74.4 rating

The Cowboys are led by Drew Brees, whose season has featured growth, grit, and
moments of brilliance. While inconsistent at times, Brees has the ability to stretch the field
and keep defenses honest. His 67-yard bomb in Week 1 remains one of the longest completions in
the NFC this season. Against Green Bay’s aggressive edge rush, Dallas needs his best outing of
the year.

Steven Jackson – The Engine

  • 87 rushes

  • 357 yards (4.1 AVG)

  • 1 TD

  • 0 fumbles

Jackson sets the tone for Dallas. A bruising, no-nonsense runner, he keeps the offense on
schedule and the defense fresh. If Dallas wants to win time of possession — and keep Favre
off the field — Jackson will be at the heart of the game plan.

Corey Dillon – The Home-Run Threat

  • 23 carries

  • 153 yards (6.65 AVG)

  • 61-yard TD

Dillon provides the lightning to Jackson’s thunder. His 61-yard touchdown run remains one of
the biggest home-run plays in the NFC this season. If Green Bay sells out to stop the inside
run, Dillon becomes an immediate X-factor.

Coaching Chess Match

When Dallas Has the Ball

The Cowboys will aim for:

  • Long, clock-killing drives

  • Heavy run usage

  • Misdirection and play-action

  • High-percentage throws for Brees

This isn’t a game Dallas wants to get into a shootout. They want to
compress the game and limit possessions.

When Green Bay Has the Ball

The Packers will go as far as Favre takes them. Dallas’ defense excels at preventing explosives —
but Green Bay’s identity is built entirely around creating them.

The game hinges on whether Dallas can pressure Favre without blitzing. If he gets time, he’ll
find someone deep.

X-Factors

Dallas

  • Red-zone defense

  • Time of possession

  • Avoiding 3rd-and-long

Green Bay

  • Pass protection

  • Ahman Green on early downs

  • Avoiding turnovers (Dallas thrives on mistakes)

The Storyline

Two teams with polar opposite philosophies collide:

  • Dallas: Controlled, disciplined, defensive

  • Green Bay: Explosive, fearless, offensively dominant

The winner makes a statement about NFC supremacy. The loser leaves with questions.

Final Word

If you want star power, contrasting styles, and playoff-level intensity, you won’t find a
better matchup on the Week 7 slate.

The #4 Cowboys travel to Lambeau to face the #7 Packers — and the entire PTF universe will be
watching.
