Week 13 picks

@ | Winner:
The Ravens have a nasty defense and I think they tee off on Carson Palmer and the Bengals this week. The defense has been their key to success this year and facing a 2nd year QB is definitely an advantage for Baltimore. Cody Pickett should be back for the Ravens this week. He hasn’t played particularly well and they’ve won in spite of him. I would imagine that continues this week as the Bengals are 7th in points allowed per game and 9th in turnover differential. I wouldn’t expect them to move the ball particularly well against Cincinnati. The Ravens are locks this week!

@ | Winner:
Another week, another Vikings lock! They should dismantle the Bears rather easily.

@ | Winner:
Similar to the Vikings, the Patriots should dominate this week. The Browns have been competitive at times, but they aren’t in the same class as New England. The Patriots put up 34 points on the Ravens nasty defense last week, the Browns will be like a hot knife through butter. New England is a lock!

@ | Winner:
The Lions are the 30th offense in points scored and facing the Cardinals who are 3rd in points allowed. That is going to play perfectly into the Cardinals offensive gameplan of running the football and hopefully getting some turnovers and taking advantage of the short field. I don’t think the Lions will be able to move the ball very well, so even though Arizona isn’t strong offensively, the defense should give them a good chance to win this one.

@ | Winner:
With Steve McNair this would’ve been an awesome game. With Brooks Bollinger, this is a lock for the Colts! Peyton Manning and company should take an early lead and never look back against the Titans. Tennessee has talent on the team, but the QB is the most important position. I think Bollinger has played very well considering he’s a young QB, but I don’t see them hanging in there for long against a team that has Super Bowl aspirations. The Colts are a lock!

@ | Winner:
This one scares me and I’m at the point where I may just pick against myself every week. The Bills are 7-4, their 4 losses are against teams that are a combined 17-27. Aside from those wins against the Bills, those teams have a win percentage of .361. That’s real frigging ugly. Anyways, the Bills should win this game as the Dolphins are in the midst of a rebuild.

@ | Winner:
The Panthers have been skidding but I think they’re a better team than New Orleans. Carolina is 8th in points scored and squaring off against a Saints team that is 30th in points allowed. Both teams are struggling in turnover differentials but I have more faith in Carolina moving the ball with the surprisingly productive Billy Volek than I do with the Saints and rookie Roethlisberger.

@ | Winner:
Somebody gotta win this game, and I know the Texans actually want to since they don’t have their picks! Houston should be heavy favorites for the first time this season. The Jets have the 32nd offense in points scored, but they’re also facing off the Texans 32nd defense. I can’t imagine that happens all that often. If Chad Pennington can’t get it going against the Jets this week, they ought to look into dealing him in the off-season to recoup draft picks and build a better supporting roster, he will be 29-years-old this off-season and approaching regression!

@ | Winner:
Losing Kurt Warner sucks! Luckily the Rams have Marc Bulger who I think can perform enough to keep them competitive. The NFC West is now WIDE OPEN after that Warner injury. The 49ers are actually a surprising 6-5, I honestly don’t know how they’re doing it. The Rams are still the better team and even with an injured Kurt Warner, the Rams still have the better QB in this matchup.

@ | Winner:
The Falcons seem to be figuring some things out, but they have their work cut out for them this week. The Bucs are sitting at 9-2 and playing some real good football. I think they handle Atlanta rather easily this week as they seek to sweep their divisional opponent. Tampa Bay is a lock this week!

@ | Winner:
Brian Griese got it going last week against Denver, throwing for 250 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTs. That’s the QB that GM Tim Miller was willing to lose their 1st round pick to obtain. The Chiefs have been struggling to move the ball and are 29th in points scored. I think the Raiders are locks this week!

@ | Winner:
I caught a Broncos game back in week 11 and it was a mess. The Saints seemed to do whatever they wanted and the Chris Sims completed just 28% of his passes. That performance was followed up by scoring just 5 against Oakland. They’ve now lost 3 in a row and 6 of their last 8. They’re definitely trending down, and after the Chargers acquired McNair they’re Super Bowl favorites. San Diego should win convincingly, they’re locks this week, too!

@ | Winner:
I was wrong about the Packers last week, they really took it to the Rams. After playing the Rams I thought they were better than their record indicated, but it didn’t seem to be a problem for the Pack. Now they get to play a 2nd year QB in Gibran Hamdan who is coming off a 13-40 performance where he threw 4 picks to the GIANTS! The Packers smell blood in the water, they’re locks this week!

@ | Winner:
The Giants are 28th on offense and 32nd in turnover differential. Not a recipe for success! The Giants forced 4 Gibran Hamdan INTs last week and still only won 16-0, thanks to Tony Romo throwing for just 25 yards and throwing 2 INTs of his own. The offense is rough and the Redskins have a respectable defense, they’re 13th in points allowed and 10th in yardage allowed. I think it’s going to be another difficult week for Romo, while the Redskins have had a bit more success on that side of the ball.

@ | Winner:
Brunell has breathed life into this Jaguars team. There is no doubt that Brunell is the guy as rookie QB Matt Mauck is injured again! The Jags live by their offense, they’re 31st in points allowed and 31st in yardage allowed. This is a good matchup for McNabb and the Steelers to get going. I like Pittsburgh’s offensive match and they’re the #4 defense in points allowed and 6th in yardage allowed. They have the ability to slow down Brunell, but will Jacksonville have the ability to slow down Pittsburgh?

@ | Winner:
The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing loss to the Bears, that was a surprising upset last week. The Seahawks are 5-6 but they have enough talent that you can’t take them lightly. They’ve definitely underperformed this year, but certainly capable of playing well, like they did last week with Hasselbeck throwing for 299 yards and 2 TDs. I think this is a coin flip game.
