PICKTEAMPLAYERANALYSIS
1.01
QB Alex Smith After dealing Pennington last season, the team needs a new franchise QB. Smith has the potential to start with an AWR in the mid 70s, with would even the meh 87 THP, and even slightly less, would be tough to pass up. As seen the early years of PTF, it’s been difficult to progress the young signal callers, with a number of teams, including myself, giving up on their own projects. Combine that with being only 22, he’s pretty much a sure thing.
1.02
QB Derek Anderson Another QB needy team after their selections at the position in the prior two drafts were injured for a good portion of their rookie seasons. Anderson is similar to the 1st overall pick last season, QB Eli Manning, with his advanced skill set(92/93 THP/THA) and older age(24). I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if he went number one overall now that I think of it but that’s one private workout I definitely won’t be running.
1.03
QB Aaron Rodgers I hope for Scott’s sake Rodgers is at least stays where he’s at, if not skew up, for him to make the deal to move up from 8th overall worthwhile. But I also hate Rodgers so a part of me wants him to suck too. As is he’s still a signficant upgrade from Patrick Ramsey long term, but still has a little bit left to be desired as he’s the 3rd best QB in the class, and not forgetting that also the best positional player is still on the board.
1.04
WR Vincent Jackson As long as he doesn’t skew down, I think Jackson is the best wideout in the class. You can’t add height in training camp, and he’s an XL 6’5”, 230lbs. He’s only 22, has solid awareness and CTH to start as well. While his STR looks a bit lacking at 66, I don’t think it matters that much with his + RBK at 52, so he should make an impact in the run game too. Starting alongside WR Plaxico Burress should instill fear in opposing defenses. They will have drives where that length has them make plays where it feels like they’re unstoppable. Eli Manning needs all the help he can get after missing the majority of last season with a injury. Throwing to big man Jackson seems like a really safe target to help him make up for the lost time.

WR Braylon Edwards If there was a QB worthy of allowing the Saints cut their losses w last year’s 2 round pick Big Ben then I believe they would seriously consider it, but at this point, it doesn’t appear to be the case. As a great consolation price though, they get a big WR target with good speed with the most ready skillset in the class at 68 AWR and 88 CTH. That either makes WR Donte Stallworth trade bait or they’ll have on of the best WR trios in the league.
1.06
WR Matt Jones The Jets already acquired veteran QB Eric Moulds for their rookie QB, so they make risk take someone a bit raw but a huge ceiling. At 6’6”, Jones is exactly that. His 47 AWR is concerning but he’s got good athleticism (91 SPD, 96 AGI, 94 ACC) and hands (79 CTH). That’s All Pro potential to me and the team still needs more long term solutions at the position.
.
1.07
MLB Alfred Fincher Zach Thomas played well last season but he’s now in deep regression and making nearly 13m. The Dolphins did draft Nick Barnett last year in the 4th round but Pincher is in another league talent wise with 85 SPD, 82 STR, 90 AGI and 92 ACC. He’s a plug and play option of the highest caliber.
1.08
SS Antrel RolleFalcons luck out that the best safety in the class falls into their laps as they traded back from 3rd overall. Rolle has could have 99 SPD, 96 ACC and 65 AWR at only 21 years old. His biggest knock is his height, but 6ft is pretty good anyway. All this projects into elite production long term, and he will be an instant upgrade who should put up good numbers in his rookie campaign.

1.09
WR Larry Brackins Brackins is a raw talent that could pay big dividends on the long run. He’s 6’5” with 93 SPD and ACC, but his AWR is only 41 with CTH 68. That’s pretty crappy but the physical attributes may be too tempting. WR2 Zuriel Smith averages a poor 10 yards per catch, and Tony Romo struggled overall. A huge target with speed like him alongside 6’4” Reggie Williams will pose many mismatches for opposing backfields.
1.10
CB Ron Bartell The Browns had multiple injuries at the position and although they used a 2nd round pick on a corner last year, they can use another. Bartell has great size at 6’1”, 210lbs with 95 SPD and 93 ACC. He’s only 21 as well so he has time to work on his game and put a couple of training camps under his belt. He has shut down potential in the future though.
1.11
WR Dante Ridgeway Kansas City needs to add more talent for their QB Byron Leftwich as the WR corps currently is lacking. Ridgeway can potentially have 99 SPD, and at 6’1”, he may end up in a similar mold of last year’s rookie breakout WR Bernard Berrian but with better CTH to start. I probably would have stood pat where they were originally at 4th overall all things considered though.
1.12
LT Michael Roos While both current tackles are good enough and have played as such, Roos is locks up the position for a long time with his elite traits. He has plus athleticism with 63 SPD, 91 STR and an elite 88 ACC combined with 95 PBK and 68 AWR. He has a safe floor and can end up among the top few tackles in the league in a relatively short amount of time.
1.13
MLB Pat Thomas The Giants land what should be an impact player at a position of need. Thomas has good but not great athleticism at 83 SPD, 89 AGI and 84 ACC 22 but what makes him enticing is combining that with a great starting point in awareness at 76. His TAK is also solid at 80. Thomas can start from day 1 and be a long term solution.
1.14
CB Mike HawkinsEagles don’t have many holes but NCB is one of them as they only have 2 corners on the roster currently. Hawkins is probably the best athlete of the bunch left with 95 SPD, 94 AGI, 95 ACC and he’s an elite 6’1”. He needs playing time early with the low awareness but with a couple of training camps he has the potential to end up in the upper echelons of corners.
1.15
WR Jerome Mathis Mathis lacks some size but he’s not a midget being 5’11. He does possess elite speed (97 SPD, 99 AGI and 95 ACC) with solid hands and ok awareness to start with. (78 CTH, 57 AWR). Current starter Laverneous Coles is set to make 11 and 13 million over the next two years and he’s already 28, so by the time he’s regressing he can be cut while Mathis will be ready to take over, with speed that compliments their big armed QB.
1.16
OT Jamaal BrownRT Willie Anderson just hit 30, and there’s a hole at RG where 34-year old WIll Shields manned last season. What Brown lacks in athleticism he more than makes up for in skills with 75 AWR and 92/93 PBK/RBK. He can immediately start at either tackle position if Anderson can be dealt, or even succeed out of position at RG.
