1.01 (Jets) - QB Alex Smith, Utah (OVR: 79; AGE: 22)

The Jets were expected to take a QB with the 1st overall pick, and they took the best one in the class. Smith is expected to be the starter year 1 and hopes to improve the leagues worst offense from last season. The Jets have added veteran help for their rookie QB by trading for WR Eric Moulds and FB Mike Alstott. They also signed HB Thomas Jones, while also drafting WR Jerome Mathis at #31 and WR Troy Williamson at #50.

1.02 (Bears) - QB Aaron Rodgers, California (OVR: 76; AGE: 23)

Like the Jets, many expected the Bears to take a QB here. Rodgers & Anderson were the top options here, and the Bears decided to go with the younger and stronger armed Rodgers. The Bears also traded for QB Brian Griese, so it remains to be seen who will be the starter for the Bears this season.

1.03 (Redskins) - WR Braylon Edwards, Michigan (OVR: 86; AGE: 22)

Some thought the Redskins may opt to take a QB here, but they decided to stick with QB Patrick Ramsay for another year. Opting instead to giving him the best weapon in the draft, Edwards is a big and fast WR who should make an impact immediately in the Redskins starting lineup.

1.04 (Chargers) - WR Vincent Jackson, Northern Colorado (OVR: 79; AGE: 22)

Vincent Jackson stands at a towering 6'5 and has great speed to go along with it. The Chargers traded up for Jackson, and he will help strengthen an already strong WR corps for the Chargers. The Chargers are looking to repeat as Super Bowl Champions, and drafting Edwards will help them vie to be repeat champions.

1.05 (Saints) - WR Matt Jones, Arkansas (OVR: 74; AGE: 23)

The Saints had a lot of options with this pick, whether it be QB, WR or S. They opted to take the raw but towering 6'5 WR in Jones. While he may be buried a bit on the Saints depth chart, unless they decide to move on of their starting WRs. Matt Jones has the size and contested catch ability to make a major impact in the league.

1.06 (Jets) - S Antrel Rolle, Miami (OVR: 86; AGE: 21)

The draft board fell perfectly for the Jets, they get the best defensive player in the class who will be an immediate impact. The Jets struggled as a defense in all phases, and Rolle should help both the passing defense and the rushing defense.

1.07 (Dolphins) - T Jammal Brown, Oklahoma (OVR: 86; AGE: 22)

The Dolphins are the first team to invest into the trenches in this draft. They get the top tackle in this class. Brown has great size (6'6, 317lbs) and will be an instant starter for the Dolphins. The Dolphins have two other young tackles in Jason Peters and Wade Brown, so it will be interesting to see how their OL looks week 1.

1.08 (Falcons) - WR Larry Brackins, Penn (OVR: 68; AGE: 22)

Brackins may not make a major impact in his rookie season, but with his towering size (6'5), he should develop into a good contested catch WR. It would not be a surprise to see Brackins sneak into the lineup early in the season. The Falcons have made it a key point to get tall WRs as they also have Brian Finneran (6'5) and Frank Sanders (6'2).

1.09 (Giants) - LB Alfred Fincher, UConn (OVR: 74; AGE: 22)

The Giants take the first LB off the board, and get an athletic one in Fincher. He's not a massive LB at 6'1, but he has great physical traits to be a effective sideline to sideline LB. The Giants have a surplus of young LBs, it will be interesting to see if they decide to move any of them, or if they will use them all.

1.10 (Bills) - LB Michael Roos, Eastern Washington (OVR: 84; AGE: 23)

The Bills take the towering (6'7) Roos, who is a pro ready tackle who will start immediately. Roos is already a great pass blocker, along with being a solid run blocker, but he can develop his run blocking skills to become a truly all-around elite tackle in the future.

1.11 (Chiefs) - OLB Derrick Johnson, Texas (OVR: 77; AGE: 22)

The Chiefs traded down to this spot, and still got a great player with their pick. Johnson has great size and physical traits to be a great defender. Johnson should compete for a starting spot day one, and he should be an impact player on the Chiefs defense.

1.12 (49ers) - T Adam Terry, Syracuse (OVR: 71; AGE: 21)

The 49ers take a massive (6'8, 335lb) developmental tackle. Terry has great strength, but will need to develop as a blocker. If he can develop his blocking abilities, he will be a force in the future. He may not be a starter day 1, but when he gets on the field he can make a massive impact.

1.13 (Giants) - S Kerry Rhodes, Louisville (OVR: 74; AGE: 22)

The Giants go back to back defense with their picks, and get a rangy safety with this pick. Rhodes has great size as 6'3, along with good speed at his size. He should be a day 1 starter and can develop into a great deep safety.

1.14 (Ravens) - OLB Shawn Merriman, Maryland (OVR: 78; AGE: 22)

The Ravens take the hometown guy with their pick, and it's a good one. Merriman is one of the best defenders in this class, and has elite size (6'4, 261) along with good speed for his size. He's already a good tackler and should develop into a great player in no time.

1.15 (Bills) - LB Lofa Tatupu, USC (OVR: 75; AGE: 22)

The Bills take a speedy LB with their pick. Tatupu is 250lbs, but he's an extremely athletic LB. The Bills LB group is really good so it remains to be seen if Tatupu will be a day 1 starter, but when he is on the field he should be a contributor right away and will develop into a great sideline to sideline LB.

1.16 (Bengals) - CB Brandon Browner, Oregon State (OVR: 72; AGE: 22)

The Bengals take one of the most interesting players in the draft class. Browner doesn't possess great speed, but he makes up for that with rare elite size (6'4, 221lbs) at the CB position. His great range should make up for his speed, and if he can develop his speed he will be an elite CB in the future.

1.17 (Bears) - HB Frank Gore, Miami (OVR: 82; AGE: 22)

In what was considered a weaker HB class, the Bears made sure to get their guy. Gore has elite speed, and while he's only 5'9 he's got a great frame at 212lbs. Gore will be a day 1 starter and should be an impact player for the Bears right away.

1.18 (Panthers) - QB Andrew Walter, Syracuse (OVR: 72; AGE: 22)

The Panthers wanted to plan for the future, and they got their future QB in Walter. He's only 22 years old and will benefit from sitting for a year while he develops as a passer. He's got a good arm, and solid accuracy which can be improved upon. He also has elite size at 6'6 and should develop into a really good pocket passer in the future.

1.19 (Raiders) - QB Derek Anderson, (OVR: 75; AGE: 24)

Many has Anderson mocked in the top 3, but he ends up falling all the way to 19. The Raiders take the great value and get one of the most pro ready QBs in the draft. Anderson has elite size at 6'6, and is the most accurate QB in this class. He has a high floor and should develop into a good starter for the Raiders.

1.20 (Seahawks) - C Richie Incognito, Nebraska (OVR: 84; AGE: 21)

The Seahawks take the first IOL in the class, and get a great player. Incognito is one of the strongest players in this class, and is already a good pass blocker and run blocker. He's also one of the younger players at 21 years old, he will develop into an elite player.

1.21 (Panthers) - CB Mike Hawkins, Oklahoma (OVR: 74; AGE: 23)

After getting their QB of the future, the Panthers take a CB with elite athleticism. Hawkins is one of the most athletic CBs in this class, and has great size at 6'1. He will likely see himself in the Panthers starting lineup week 1, and should make an impact early with his speed.

1.22 (Jaguars) - CB Adam Jones, West Virginia (OVR: 78; AGE: 21)

While Jones doesn't have great speed or great size, he is one of the most well rounded players in the entire draft. He's a good tackler and will be a day 1 starter for the jaguars. He's got a high floor and could become a really good nickel.

1.23 (Bills) - WR Craphonso Thorpe, Florida State (OVR: 73; AGE: 22)

The Bills have made it a priority to add fast WRs, and Thorpe fits that mold. He's a physical specimen and the most athletic player in the entire draft class. He will be a great returner and will be a hard player to guard as he runs past DBs.

1.24 (Broncos) - HB Ronnie Brown, Auburn (OVR: 85; AGE: 23)

The Broncos get great value and an instant impact player in Brown. He has great size (6'0, 223lbs) and elite speed. He will form one of the best HB duos with HB Rob Dayne.

1.25 (Eagles) - CB Marlin Jackson, Michigan (OVR: 72; AGE: 22)

Jackson has physical traits, he likely won't start immediately but he should develop into a really good CB in the future.

1.26 (Steelers) - WR Dante Ridgeway, Ball State (OVR: 74; AGE: 22)

The Steelers get a all around good WR with good size and great speed. He should see the field sooner than later and has the tools to develop into a good WR. He also has a great arm and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him throwing a TD at some point in the season.

1.27 (Buccaneers) - T Wesley Britt, Alabama (OVR: 69; AGE: 22)

Britt is a raw tackle but has great size at 6'8. He will likely compete with fellow rookie tackle Calvin Armstrong for a starting spot day 1.

1.28 (Cowboys) - WR Tab Perry, UCLA (OVR: 70; AGE: 23)

The Cowboys get a tall and speedy WR in Perry. He may be buried a bit in the Cowboys WR room, but when he gets on the field he will make an impact. He has a ton of potential to develop into a great WR in the future.

1.29 (Bears) - TE Health Miller, Virginia (OVR: 80; AGE: 22)

The Bears got two instant impact players in Miller and HB Frank Gore. Miller is the top TE in the class and has great size (6'5) and speed. He'll be a longtime starter in the league.

1.30 (Broncos) - OLB Leroy Hill, UCLA (OVR: 74; AGE: 22)

The Broncos get an athletic LB in Hill. He will need to improve as a tackler, but once he does he will be a good starter. They have a strong LB group, also selecting OLB Demarcus Ware in the 2nd round, it will be a great competition for the starting spots.

1.31 (Jets) - WR Jerome Mathis, Hampton (OVR: 74; AGE: 22)

Mathis was the 8th WR taken in the 1st round of the draft. He will look to create chemistry with rookie QB Alex Smith. He brings great speed and elite kick returning abilities. He's not a large WR at 5'11, but if he can continue to develop as a route runner and have reliable hands he will provide value in the Jets offense.

1.32 (Cowboys) - CB Carlos Rogers, Auburn (OVR: 75; AGE: 21)

The Cowboys get an all-around solid CB in Rogers, he has good size and speed. He's got a good floor and is only 21 years old, he should develop into a good CB.
