2006 PTF MOCK DRAFT V2.0 (THE FINAL MOCK)

1.1- Carolina Panthers- ILB DeMeco Ryans- Alabama
(Previous pick: WR Brandon Marshall)

The Panthers get a stud to man the middle of the field for the next decade. Ryans at 6'1'247 lbs. can literally play anywhere on defense and it will make sense with his attributes, 91 SPD, 77 STR, 70 AWR, 99 AGI, 95 ACC, 60 CTH, 91 TAK. He's already elite and a prospect to the likes we have not seen before at his position. I look forward to see how it translates, can he be enough of an impact on defense for the Panthers to win games? We're about to find out.

1.2- Arizona Cardinals- CB Antonio Cromartie- Florida State
(Previous pick: ILB DeMeco Ryans)

Cromartie is a top tier corner with rare size/speed and ability as he is 6'2" 210 lbs. , 90 speed, 73 AWR, 89 AGI, 91 ACC, 71 CTH, 93 JMP, 72 TAK. Again, he is already an elite level corner capable of taking any pass to the house. Cro will pair nicely with Andre Dyson on the outside, I'll assume Goodman will play at nickel corner to form a solid trio in the secondary.

1.3- Minnesota Vikings- WR Brandon Marshall- UCF
(Previous pick: CB Antonio Cromartie)

The Vikings land their Randy Moss replacement with Brandon Marshall, who is very similar being 6'5" 232 lbs. , 97 SPD, 52 AWR, 88 AGI, 99 ACC, 83 CTH, 89 JMP is going to be another nightmare for a decade will probably be at 99 SPD/99 ACC in no time terrorizing secondaries. He easily comes into the #1 WR role over newly acquired Ridgeway but they may try and utilize him as the WR2 like they did with Moss.

1.4- New York Giants- S/CB/DE/WR Chad Greenway- Iowa
Greenway is still the pick here for the Giants, he can play literally anywhere on defense that he wants (even if it's out of position) with 99 SPD, 72 STR, 54 AWR, 95 ACC, 59 CTH, 85 TAK at 6'3" 237 lbs. this man is a straight up beast. Like I said in the previous mock he's easily 1 of my favorite players in this draft class. He'll truely be a chess piece that you can place anywhere and he'll make an impact.

1.5- Minnesota Vikings- TE Leonard Pope- Georgia
The Vikings add another weapon for the high octane offense this time in the form of the nightmarish tight end Leonard Pope. The 6'8" 264 lbs. monster is not just size, he also has game changing attributes including 90 SPD, 50 AWR, 92 AGI, 89 ACC, 70 CTH, 97 JMP my goodness that's going to be a nightmare for defenses to cover.

1.6- New York Jets- LT D'Brickashaw Ferguson- Virginia
(Previous pick: CB Devin Hester)

The Jets get an anchor for their offensive line for the next decade in the 6'6" 310 lbs. , tons of strength, extreme quick feet with quick burst to the opposition. He already comes with elite strength able to push defenders backwards with his brute-like power. He's also an elite run and pass blocker which you can never have too many elite lineman especially with a young signal caller.

1.7- Jacksonville Jaguars- QB Vince Young- Texas
(Previous pick: OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson)

GM Tim Miller will be heart broken with this selection but what a selection by the jags who finally get their guy in the form of 6'5" 232 lbs Vince Young. The Jags appeared to have their guy in Derek Anderson but then traded him to the Buccaneers for a 1st+. The Jags GM Erik Terry-Haag has the activity points to change him from a scrambling QB to a balanced QB which he'll need to do at least next season. His 59 AWR is average and will need to be worked on but the 97 THP/ 96 THA is elite, just having to work on his AWR is huge and should be a stud after a few seasons.

1.8- New York Jets- TE Vernon Davis- Maryland
The Jets shore up their offensive line to protect QB Alex Smith now give him another weapon to throw to in the 6'3" 248 lbs TE with 85 SPD, 83 STR, 93 AGI, 99 ACC, 79 CTH, 81 JMP. He'll be a mismatch for almost all LB's and safeties to cover, a nightmare for coordinators and the Jets keep giving themselves more quality players, soon to be compteting for the division.

1.9- New Orleans Saints- DT Haloti Ngata- Oregon
Ngata is still my pick for the Saints, he'll be an absolute monster in the middle of that defense who can play in any scheme fit at 6'4" 340 lbs. but he's not just a slob out there, 69 SPD, 92 STR, 63 AWr, 72 AGI, 77 ACC, 93 TAK is incredible for a man of his stature. His speed to the ball carrier or QB is going to be a nightmare, his brute STR at his size will have no problems shedding tacklers and then add his elite tackling and you have a DPOTY candidate imo.

1.10- Cleveland Browns- WR Greg Jennings- Western Michigan
Jennings isn't the prototypical WR that many GM's covet here in the PTF since he's only 5'11" 197bs but the measurables are only part of it, just ask the Seahawks when they drafted stud WR Jacobi Ford. Jennings has the ability to close out at 99 SPD/99 AGI/99 ACC which always sends those players shooting up draft boards. He'll start immediately alongside of Larry Fitzgerald and make an impact year 1.

1.11- San Diego Chargers- OT Brad Butler- Virginia
(Previous pick: QB Vince Young)

The Chargers snag the next best offensive lineman in the 6'7" 315 lbs Brad Butler to anchor that offensive line in front of Eli Manning, I have him going to Eli's blindside at LT where he could start for a decade blocking for the up and coming Manning who's on the verge of becoming a solid QB in the PTF. Butler has quick feet, above average power to push the blockers backwards, excellent burst getting to defenders quickly and above average run/pass blocking.

1.12- Chicago Bears- CB Johnathan Joseph- South Carolina
(Previous pick: CB Kelly Jennings)

The Bears need some help alongside of Asante Samuel, Joseph is a solid all around CB in this class. He stands at 5'11" 186 lbs. , 90 SPD, 65 AWR, 95 AGI, 95 ACC, 67 CTH, 88 JMP, 77 TAK so there is alot to like here and his 65 AWR allows him to start immediately without be a huge liability. He is a ball hawk with the burst to the ball which will able him to take any INT to the house, also an elite tackler in the open field.

1.13- Jacksonville Jaguars- CB Devin Hester- Miami
(Previous pick: QB Jay Cutler)

Devin haster would start immediately opposite of stud corner Terrance Newman giving them a trio of talented defensive backs. Some GM's won't like his 5'11" 190 lbs frame but other than not being 6 foot or taller there is a bunch to like. He's an absolute blazer 95 SPD, 85 AGI, 92 ACC which makes him a top tier athlete. His 62 football IQ, 74 CTH, 91 JMP, 64 TAK are also all pluses. He's a day 1 starter who can fix the secondary the moment he's drafted.

1.14- Washington Redskins- DE Victor Adeyanju- Indiana
(Previous pick: CB Johnathan Joseph)

Scott ends up with a much needed top tier pass rusher in Adeyanju, he's a freakish athlete 6'4" 284 lbs., 91 SPD (good lord), 77 STR, 79 AGI, 82 ACC makes him all QB's public enemy #1, even if his speed skewed down to 85 he'd be basically a bigger, stronger KGB (my former LE now traded to the Eagles). He will start immediately at LE and has the ability to play in any scheme fit with his quickness and power combo but will beed to work on his football awareness and tackling at the next level.

1.15- Chicago Bears- WR Bennie Brazzell- LSU
(Previous pick: WR Marques Colston)

Brazzell will be another prospect that will require a favorable skew come draft day as this is a very weak draft class and there wasn't a whole lot in free agency. He's 6'0" 182 lbs, 95 SPD, 85 AGI, 89 ACC, 79 CTH, 92 JMP so he could be the immediate WR2 in that offense. They shore up the secondary a few picks before and now add a WR2 to the mix alongside of Andre Johnson.

1.16- Washington Redskins- TE Anthony Fasano- Notre Dame
(Previous pick: DE Mario Williams)

It's unfortunate the cap troubles the Redskins are having, parting ways with talent just to bring talent back in is never ideal but every team goes through it at some point. Fasano gives them I'd say as close as possible to the talent they lost with TE Witten. Fasano is 6'4" 258 lbs, 86 SPD, 84 STR, 82 AGI, 90 ACC, 73 CTH which makes him a top tier athlete, a true mismatch for most defenses.

1.17- Oakland Raiders- QB Jay Cutler- Vanderbilt
(Previous pick: LB Clint Ingram)

The Raiders GM doesn't get his man crush in Vince Young but jay Cutler is a solid consolation prize. More than capable of being a franchise QB for them. Cutler is 6'3" 231 lbs which gives him the prototypical size most GM's prefer. He prefers a scrambler so Cutler offers some ability there. his 54 AWR is average but workable, a rocket for an arm at 97 THP and almost elite THA accuracy at 91 gives the Raiders a franchise QB in the making.

1.18- Seattle Seahawks- DE Mario Williams- N.C. State
(Previous pick: DE Victor Adeyanju)

Williams gives the Seahawks a large presence at LE being 6'6" 300 lbs., 78 SPD, 87 STR, 86 ACC, 72 TAK are all excellent. I'm not overly sure if 62 AGI is a non factor for some GM's but I know many covet it. He will be an immediate day 1 plug and play starter and should do quite well in that defense year 1.

1.19- Kansas City Chiefs- OT Winston Justice- USC
(Previous pick: DE Charles Bennett)

I'm surprised not to see Justice on more 1st round mocks, other than SPD 42, everything else is fantastic including his size at 6'6" 317 lbs., strong as an ox with 94 STR, 61 AGI gives him some legit quick feet, his burst to the defensive lineman with 80 ACC is also a plus. He will be an immediate impact starter at OT on either side with his above average run and pass block both in the mid 80's.

1.20- Arizona Cardinals- DE Jeremy Mincey- Florida
(Previous pick: OT Brad Butler)

The Cards continue to bolster their defense now adding immediate pass rush help with Jeremy Mincey. He's 6'4" 280 lbs., 87 SPD, 70 STR, 78 AGI, 84 ACC and gives them pressure off the edge that they haven't had since Kyle Vanden Bosch was traded away. I think he's more suited for the 4-3 which is perfect for them since it appears that is what they run. Mincey can be a dominant pass rusher in the league.

1.21- St. Louis Rams- CB Jarrett Bush- Utah State
(Previous pick: S Pat Watkins)

The Rams have a need in the secondary especially at CB after finally letting longtime corner Bobby Taylor go. Bush gives them a 6'0" 200 lbs, 95 SPD, 70 STR, 99 AGI, 93 ACC, 83 JMP corner. His 47 AWR, 53 CTH, 55 TAK are all average which will definitely need to be worked on but the measurables may be too good to pass up at this stage plus Justin can work on those throughout the season.

1.22- Detroit Lions- OT Charles Spencer- Pittsburgh
(Previous pick: S Pat Watkins)

The Lions jump in front of us and take offensive line help, Spencer could be moved anywhere along the OL if need be. but I do see an opening possibly at LT. 6'4" 338 lbs., 66 SPD makes him a very good athlete, 98 STR is elite giving him the ability to pancake defenders, 71 AGI gives him some of the quickest feet in the draft, his run/pass blocking is average but those can be worked on through out progression periods.

1.23- Green Bay Packers- OT Andrew Whitworth- LSU
(Previous pick: ILB Gerris Wilkinson)

This is a tough 1 because I think Whitworth has alot of elite traits, starting with his 6'7" 338 lbs frame. 64 SPD gives him quick feet, 95 STR is elite as he'll be able to push the pile with ease, 63 AGI will give him the ability to be a swing tackle on pitch plays, 88 ACC gives him explosive burst to the defenders to go along with above average pass block with average run block. The only negative is that he'll almost be regressing when hisrookie deal expires and his low AWR is awful as well. I have not used workouts yet but he'd be skew dependant come draft day for us.

1.24- Indianapolis Colts- ILB Gerris Wilkinson- Georgia Tech
(Previous pick: ILB A.J. Hawk)

I think this draft will be more defensive heavy for the Colts who are in a bit of a transition post the trade of QB Peyton Manning. Wilkinson would be an aexcellent addition to the middle of that defense who may be one of the most athletic at his position 86 SPD, 85 STR, 92 AGI, 88 ACC, 75 TAK allow him to be a plug and play starter immediately.

1.25- Baltimore Ravens- OLB James Anderson- Virginia Tech
Anderson is 1 of those rare freak athletes that you can't teach, you either have it or you don't. 6'2" 235 lbs., 91 SPD, 77 STR, 84 AGI, 92 ACC, 60 CTH are all top tier in this draft class but now you have to take the good with the bad. His 40 AWR and 64 TAK are pedestrian, lucky for the Ravens you can work on both in training camp plus progression periods so there may be growing pains in year 1 but the risk is definitely worth the reward.

1.26- New England Patriots- OL Guy Whimper- East Carolina
(Previous pick: TE Mercedes Lewis)

Whimper looks like he'll be an anchor for the OL for years to come, he's 6'5" 315 lbs., very quick feet at 64 SPD, above average burst getting to his stance with 74 ACC, he's only an average blocker with 79 PBK and 82 RBK but those attributes are the first to go up. He'll be a top tier offensive lineman as early as this season.

1.27- Kansas City Chiefs- DT Kyle Williams- LSU
(Previous pick: QB Matt Leinart)

Kyle "Meatball" Williams (It's what the called him in Buffalo) isn't a monster DT like Ngata at 6'1" 303 lbs. although he doesn't need to be since he has some elite traits like his 72 SPD, 90 STR, 77 ACC and 90 TAK which are all awesome. He will be a plug and play starter alongside of Kevin Williams with the departure of Ryan Sims.

1.28- Kansas City Chiefs- WR Marques Colston- Hofstra
(Previous pick: WR Bennie Brazzell)

Colston will be 1 of those prospects that will surprise you good or surprise you bad depending on his skew. He's 6'5" 225 lbs., and this is where the skew will mean the most as he has 87 SPD, 89 AGI, 85 ACC, 88 JMP but his 48 AWR and 63 CTh are pedestrian so he'll need a favorable skew in the other areas in order to justify those lower attributes, if he does he would be an excellent addition here for the Chiefs.

1.29- Green Bay Packers- DT Gabe Watson- Michigan
We take care of the OL with Whitworth at OT and now shore up the DL with Watson. Gabe is a load at 6'3" 338 lbs. , his 80 SPD is incredible for a man of his stature, 94 STR is plenty to push that interior OL backwards, 67 AGI, 70 ACC is above average. The defensive line is now shaping back up to respectability but we have a ways to go yet.

1.30- Denver Broncos- DE Brent Hawkins- Illinois State
(Previous pick: OT Jonathan Scott)

The Donkeys add the very talented Hawkins who can play at RE with his 77 STR which is plenty to push the opposition back into the QB on his way for a sack. Excellent SPD, AGI 76 and ACC 76 but will have to work on his 55 TAK but I personally don't think TAK is a big deal with DE but some may argue otherwise.

1.31- New England Patriots- OLB Clint Ingram- Oklahoma
(Previous pick: DE Jeremy Mincey)

It's really hard trying to figure out what a team with a plethora of talent will do on draft day. The Patriots shore up the offensive line a few picks before and now add a solid outside linebacker, 6'2" 240 lbs. , 82 SPD, 75 STR, 54 AWr, 90 AGI, 89 ACC, 50 CTH, 76 TAK are all solid attributes which give him the ability to play in all scheme fits, he's a plug and play player.

1.32- Denver Broncos- S Donte Whitner- Ohio State
(Previous pick: S Dawan Landry)

Crazy how the Broncos just keep finding diamonds in the rough to plug and play in their defense. Whitner is only 5'10" 208 lbs. but packs a mean punch, he has 88 SPD, 55 AWR, 92 AGI, 91 ACC, 69 CTH, 86 JMP, 77 TAK which makes him above average or elite in all the major categories. A solid defense to go with a Peyton Manning lead offense is a very scary combo. Whitner could be a plug and play starter year 1 which is always a great addition this late in the draft.
