Charles Grant - LE
Key Ratings: 99 OVR | Age: 29 | Height: 6'3" | Weight: 282 lbs | 82 SPD, 87 STR, 72 AWR, 87 ACC, 90 TAK
Charles Grant may be the most complete player available. It is extremely difficult to find a 282-pound defensive end with 82 speed and 87 acceleration, and Grant combines that athleticism with 87 strength and 90 tackling. He can rush the passer, chase plays from the backside and hold up against the running game without being substituted. His age and 72 awareness are the only minor concerns, but neither should prevent teams from making major offers. Grant is the player most likely to force the Saints into a difficult match-or-compensation decision.
Richard Seymour - LE
Key Ratings: 94 OVR | Age: 28 | Height: 6'6" | Weight: 310 lbs | 75 SPD, 88 STR, 84 AWR, 78 ACC, 82 TAK
Richard Seymour possesses one of the rarest physical profiles in the league. At 6'6" and 310 pounds, he is large enough to control the line of scrimmage but still has 75 speed, 78 acceleration and 81 agility. His 84 awareness makes him a much safer investment than most athletic defensive linemen, while his 88 strength and 82 tackling allow him to contribute immediately. Seymour can fit at defensive end or move inside in certain fronts. His combination of height, size and awareness should create interest from nearly every team with sufficient cap space.
Dustin Rykert - RT
Key Ratings: 88 OVR | Age: 26 | Height: 6'5" | Weight: 303 lbs | 68 SPD, 93 STR, 56 AWR, 99 PBK, 99 RBK
Dustin Rykert should be one of the most aggressively pursued offensive players. A 26-year-old tackle with 99 pass blocking and 99 run blocking can immediately stabilize an entire offensive line. Rykert also has 93 strength and unusually good 68 speed for a 303-pound lineman. His 56 awareness is the major weakness, but his physical ratings are so dominant that many teams will be willing to live with occasional mistakes. Young elite tackles almost never reach the open market, making Rykert a strong candidate to receive one of free agency's largest contracts.
Mike Rumph - CB
Key Ratings: 86 OVR | Age: 28 | Height: 6'2" | Weight: 205 lbs | 91 SPD, 91 AWR, 90 AGI, 92 ACC, 89 JMP
Mike Rumph is almost perfectly designed for a league that values speed and height. He is a 6'2" cornerback with 91 speed, 92 acceleration, 90 agility and 89 jumping. More importantly, his athletic ability is supported by 91 awareness, making him much less likely to be caught out of position than most fast defensive backs. Rumph also has 63 tackling and enough size to match up with larger receivers. Although he is already 28, his rare combination of height, speed and awareness should make him one of the most coveted players in the entire class.
Koren Robinson - WR
Key Ratings: 82 OVR | Age: 27 | Height: 6'1" | Weight: 205 lbs | 96 SPD, 78 AWR, 95 AGI, 95 ACC, 72 CTH, 91 JMP
Koren Robinson may receive considerably more interest than his 82 overall suggests. His 96 speed is the best among the match eligible receivers, while 95 acceleration and 95 agility make him dangerous before and after the catch. Robinson also has 91 jumping and a respectable 78 awareness. His 72 catching rating creates some inconsistency, but his ability to stretch the field will change how opponents call their defenses. In a speed-oriented league, several teams may view Robinson as a potential number-one receiver and bid accordingly.
Doug Gabriel - WR
Key Ratings: 85 OVR | Age: 26 | Height: 6'3" | Weight: 215 lbs | 91 SPD, 63 AWR, 91 AGI, 88 ACC, 92 CTH, 95 JMP
Doug Gabriel has one of the most exciting offensive profiles in free agency. He is 6'3" with 91 speed, 92 catching and 95 jumping, giving him the ability to win deep, make contested catches and dominate smaller defensive backs. His 81 kick-return rating provides additional value. Gabriel's 63 awareness is his main weakness, but he is only 26 and already possesses the physical tools teams value most. He may not carry the highest overall rating among the offensive players, but his combination of size, speed and catching could generate one of the strongest markets.
Tyrone Calico - WR
Key Ratings: 83 OVR | Age: 26 | Height: 6'4" | Weight: 223 lbs | 88 SPD, 73 AWR, 94 AGI, 92 ACC, 80 CTH, 96 JMP
Tyrone Calico is another receiver whose value should greatly exceed his overall rating. At 6'4", he is the tallest of the top match eligible receivers, and his 96 jumping makes him a major red-zone and downfield target. Calico also has 88 speed, 92 acceleration and 94 agility, which is remarkable for a player of his size. His 80 catching and 73 awareness are both solid enough to make his athletic ability usable immediately. Teams that prioritize height may prefer Calico even over some of the higher-rated receivers in the class.
Marques Ogden - RT
Key Ratings: 87 OVR | Age: 25 | Height: 6'6" | Weight: 312 lbs | 70 SPD, 97 STR, 70 AWR, 90 PBK, 88 RBK
Marques Ogden is one of the best long-term investments available. He is only 25, stands 6'6" and combines 97 strength with 90 pass blocking and 88 run blocking. His 70 speed and 79 acceleration are outstanding for a 312-pound tackle and should help him deal with fast edge rushers. Ogden is not as polished as Rykert, but his 70 awareness is already respectable and he has more developmental value because of his age. Teams unable to win the bidding for Rykert may immediately turn toward Ogden, creating another expensive tackle market.
Ray Lewis - MLB
Key Ratings: 94 OVR | Age: 32 | Height: 6'1" | Weight: 245 lbs | 78 SPD, 95 AWR, 82 ACC, 95 TAK
Ray Lewis remains one of the safest immediate-impact players in the league. His 95 awareness and 95 tackling should make him the centerpiece of a defense from his first game, and 78 speed is still sufficient at middle linebacker when paired with his instincts. The major concern is age. At 32, Lewis will appeal more to contenders than rebuilding teams, and clubs may hesitate to offer a lengthy contract or major compensation. Even so, a team that believes it is one defensive leader away from a championship could make an aggressive offer that forces Dallas to match.
Ovie Mughelli - FB
Key Ratings: 95 OVR | Age: 25 | Height: 6'1" | Weight: 250 lbs | 72 SPD, 79 STR, 47 AWR, 76 CAR, 87 BTK, 79 RBK
Ovie Mughelli is the highest-rated offensive skill player in the group and is only 25 years old. He brings 79 strength, 87 break tackle and 79 run blocking, making him useful as a lead blocker, short-yardage runner and receiving option. Mughelli's 47 awareness and the limited market value of the fullback position may prevent him from receiving a big contract. Nevertheless, teams that regularly use a fullback could view him as a major offensive weapon rather than a role player. He should attract strong interest from a smaller but committed group of bidders.
Terrell Suggs - RE
Key Ratings: 91 OVR | Age: 26 | Height: 6'3" | Weight: 265 lbs | 72 SPD, 80 STR, 56 AWR, 77 ACC, 99 TAK
Terrell Suggs carries a 91 overall rating and an elite 99 tackling rating at only 26 years old. He does not have the extreme speed of Charles Grant or Bryan Thomas, and his 56 awareness may occasionally limit his consistency. However, Suggs has enough strength and acceleration to remain disruptive while being one of the surest tacklers in the league. Teams that value production over pure athletic traits will be interested. He may not start the largest bidding war, but Cincinnati should expect to receive at least one serious offer.
Antonio Pierce - MLB
Key Ratings: 87 OVR | Age: 29 | Height: 6'1" | Weight: 240 lbs | 84 SPD, 87 AWR, 86 AGI, 86 ACC, 80 TAK
Antonio Pierce is one of the most balanced linebackers available. His 84 speed, 86 acceleration and 86 agility give him the range to defend modern passing attacks, while 87 awareness should keep him in position. He is not an overwhelming tackler, but an 80 rating is sufficient when combined with his athleticism and instincts. Pierce is also young enough to provide several strong seasons. Teams searching for an every-down linebacker who can cover space will likely place Pierce near the top of their boards, and he could move into the bidding-war tier if several linebacker-needy teams become involved.
Joe Odom - ROLB
Key Ratings: 87 OVR | Age: 26 | Height: 6'1" | Weight: 240 lbs | 83 SPD, 80 AWR, 80 AGI, 90 ACC, 81 TAK
Joe Odom offers a very appealing combination of youth, acceleration and awareness. His 90 acceleration allows him to close quickly on quarterbacks and ball carriers, while 83 speed and 80 agility give him enough range to play in coverage. Odom also has 80 awareness and 81 tackling, leaving few major weaknesses in his profile. He may not have the name recognition or overall rating of the top defenders, but he could be one of the smartest signings in the class. Several teams should view him as a long-term starting outside linebacker.
Asante Samuel - CB
Key Ratings: 84 OVR | Age: 26 | Height: 5'11" | Weight: 185 lbs | 91 SPD, 81 AWR, 90 AGI, 90 ACC, 61 CTH, 85 JMP
Asante Samuel has the awareness and age to generate a strong market. His 91 speed, 90 acceleration and 90 agility allow him to stay with most receivers, while 81 awareness is a strong rating for a 26-year-old corner. Samuel also brings 69 tackling, which makes him more dependable against runs and short passes. His 5'11" height is the primary reason he may receive less interest than Mike Rumph. Teams that are comfortable using a smaller corner should still see Samuel as a quality starter with several productive seasons ahead of him.
Kevin Williams - DT
Key Ratings: 82 OVR | Age: 26 | Height: 6'5" | Weight: 311 lbs | 66 SPD, 90 STR, 52 AWR, 72 ACC, 92 TAK
Kevin Williams is more valuable than his 82 overall rating indicates. At 6'5" and 311 pounds, he has ideal interior size, 90 strength and an excellent 92 tackling rating. His 66 speed and 72 acceleration also give him enough mobility to pursue plays rather than simply occupy blockers. Williams' 52 awareness is a legitimate weakness, but he is only 26 and possesses a physical profile that cannot easily be found elsewhere. Teams needing a defensive tackle should be willing to invest in his development, especially if the compensation remains reasonable.
Teyo Johnson - TE
Key Ratings: 82 OVR | Age: 26 | Height: 6'7" | Weight: 260 lbs | 77 SPD, 68 AWR, 81 AGI, 80 ACC, 80 CTH, 76 JMP
Teyo Johnson could be one of the biggest beneficiaries of the league's emphasis on height. At 6'7", he creates an enormous target over the middle and in the red zone. Johnson has 77 speed, 80 acceleration, 80 catching and 81 agility, giving him more movement ability than most players his size. He also contributes acceptable blocking with 55 pass blocking and 54 run blocking. His 68 awareness needs improvement, but his age and rare height should attract teams looking for a matchup weapon. Green Bay may have to make a meaningful decision on any offer he receives.
Eric Johnson - TE
Key Ratings: 86 OVR | Age: 28 | Height: 6'3" | Weight: 256 lbs | 80 SPD, 80 AWR, 78 ACC, 85 CTH, 80 JMP, 57 RBK
Eric Johnson is the more polished of the two prominent match eligible tight ends. He combines 80 speed, 80 awareness and 85 catching, making him a dependable target who can immediately contribute in any passing offense. His 57 run blocking and 54 pass blocking also allow him to remain on the field in a traditional formation. Johnson does not have Teyo Johnson's extraordinary height, but he is a safer and more complete player. Teams looking for immediate production may prefer Eric, while teams prioritizing upside and matchup potential may pursue Teyo.
George Foster - RT
Key Ratings: 86 OVR | Age: 27 | Height: 6'5" | Weight: 338 lbs | 60 SPD, 88 STR, 72 AWR, 99 PBK, 86 RBK
George Foster should have a healthy market because of his elite pass protection. His 99 pass blocking rating is matched by only Dustin Rykert among the match eligible tackles, and Foster also brings 88 strength and 86 run blocking. At 338 pounds, he can physically overwhelm many defenders. His 60 speed limits his ability to recover against the fastest edge rushers, but 72 awareness should help compensate. Foster is unlikely to command Rykert's contract because he is slightly older and less athletic, but he should still be viewed as a high-level starting tackle.
Jeremy Bridges - LT
Key Ratings: 83 OVR | Age: 26 | Height: 6'5" | Weight: 318 lbs | 71 SPD, 94 STR, 65 AWR, 89 PBK, 89 RBK
Jeremy Bridges may be one of the most underrated players in the class. He is only 26 and combines 94 strength with balanced 89 pass blocking and 89 run blocking. His 71 speed is also excellent for a 318-pound tackle. Bridges lacks the elite overall rating and blocking numbers of Rykert, but he has the physical tools to become a long-term starter at a lower initial cost. Teams that miss on the top two tackles could quickly turn toward him. If multiple clubs recognize his value, his final contract may be considerably larger than expected.
Tyler Brayton - DT
Key Ratings: 85 OVR | Age: 27 | Height: 6'6" | Weight: 280 lbs | 70 SPD, 92 STR, 60 AWR, 79 ACC, 82 TAK
Tyler Brayton brings elite height and strength to the interior defensive line. At 6'6" with 92 strength, he can disrupt passing lanes and become difficult for offensive linemen to move. His 79 acceleration is particularly useful for a 280-pound defensive tackle, while 82 tackling gives him reliable finishing ability. Brayton's 60 awareness and 60 injury rating are concerns that may reduce the size of his market. Even so, his physical tools are strong enough to attract teams that believe they can protect him and place him in favorable situations.
Bryan Thomas - RE
Key Ratings: 87 OVR | Age: 28 | Height: 6'4" | Weight: 266 lbs | 80 SPD, 72 STR, 68 AWR, 81 ACC, 82 TAK
Bryan Thomas is a good fit for teams that want more speed along the defensive line. He stands 6'4" and has 80 speed with 81 acceleration, allowing him to pursue quarterbacks and contain mobile runners. Thomas also has 82 tackling and a respectable 68 awareness rating. His 72 strength is lower than the other top defensive ends, which could make him vulnerable against power-running teams. Athletic edge defenders are always valuable, and Thomas should attract legitimate starter-level offers from clubs that prioritize speed over bulk.
Erik Bickerstaff - HB
Key Ratings: 80 OVR | Age: 26 | Height: 6'0" | Weight: 230 lbs | 88 SPD, 87 STR, 89 AGI, 87 ACC, 72 CAR, 85 BTK
Erik Bickerstaff has a fascinating power-and-speed combination. At 230 pounds, he has 88 speed, 87 acceleration, 89 agility and 87 strength. His 85 break tackle rating makes him especially dangerous once he reaches the second level. The concern is reliability: 72 carrying and 62 awareness may create mistakes, while 74 stamina could limit his workload. Bickerstaff may not be pursued as a traditional every-down feature back, but teams looking for an athletic power runner should show interest. His physical ratings could lead to a larger contract than his 80 overall would normally suggest.
Jon Jansen - RT
Key Ratings: 86 OVR | Age: 31 | Height: 6'6" | Weight: 305 lbs | 56 SPD, 87 STR, 89 AWR, 88 PBK, 89 RBK
Jon Jansen is a veteran option for teams that value awareness and immediate consistency. His 89 awareness, 88 pass blocking and 89 run blocking create a dependable profile, and his 6'6" frame provides excellent size at right tackle. Age and athleticism will limit his market. At 31 with 56 speed, he is unlikely to receive the same long-term investment as the younger tackles. Jansen should still be attractive to a contender that needs one reliable starter and is willing to accept a shorter competitive window.
Seth Wand - RT
Key Ratings: 81 OVR | Age: 27 | Height: 6'7" | Weight: 330 lbs | 64 SPD, 91 STR, 64 AWR, 85 PBK, 92 RBK
Seth Wand is a massive run-blocking specialist. He stands 6'7", weighs 330 pounds and combines 91 strength with 92 run blocking. Those ratings should make him attractive to teams built around a power-running offense. Wand's 85 pass blocking is solid but not elite, while his 64 awareness may cause inconsistency against more complex defensive fronts. He does not have the same broad market as Rykert, Ogden or Foster, but his size and specialized strengths should earn him attention from teams with the right offensive identity.
Dwayne Rudd - MLB
Key Ratings: 81 OVR | Age: 31 | Height: 6'2" | Weight: 235 lbs | 78 SPD, 88 AWR, 77 AGI, 76 ACC, 82 TAK
Dwayne Rudd remains a dependable veteran linebacker. His 88 awareness is the strongest part of his profile and should help him diagnose plays despite having only average acceleration. Rudd also has 82 tackling and enough speed to remain useful against the run. At 31, however, he will not offer the same long-term value as Antonio Pierce or Joe Odom. His likely market will consist of contenders seeking experience, depth and immediate competence. Arizona should be able to retain him unless another team views him as the final piece of its front seven.
Rashean Mathis - LOLB
Key Ratings: 79 OVR | Age: 27 | Height: 6'1" | Weight: 200 lbs
Rashean Mathis is an intriguing coverage-oriented linebacker whose market will depend heavily on how teams value versatility. His overall rating is modest compared with the leading linebackers, but players capable of operating in space can be useful against passing-oriented opponents. Mathis is unlikely to command a major compensation-level contract, which may actually increase the number of interested clubs. Teams will be able to view him as an affordable specialist or potential starter rather than a franchise investment. Buffalo may receive several exploratory offers even if none reaches the top of the market.
Kenny King - LE
Key Ratings: 79 OVR | Age: 26 | Height: 6'4" | Weight: 281 lbs
Kenny King enters free agency as a lower-rated edge defender at a valuable position. Pass rushers often receive opportunities even when their overall ratings are modest, and King may appeal to teams that believe he can become productive in a rotational role. He is unlikely to receive the type of offer made to Charles Grant, Richard Seymour or Terrell Suggs, but that could make him more attainable for clubs with limited cap space. Jacksonville's decision may ultimately depend on whether the compensation is more valuable than retaining a useful defensive-line piece.
Bradie James - ROLB
Key Ratings: 76 OVR | Age: 26 | Height: 6'2" | Weight: 245 lbs
Bradie James projects as a depth signing or a candidate to compete for a starting linebacker position. His 76 overall rating places him below the leading players at the position, so teams are unlikely to sacrifice substantial compensation to acquire him. His market could still develop among clubs that need multiple linebackers or want an affordable player for a specialized defensive package. James may receive several modest offers rather than one aggressive bid. That type of market would give Atlanta a realistic opportunity to match without damaging its larger free-agency plans.
Seth Marler - K
Key Ratings: 92 OVR | Age: 27 | Height: 6'1" | Weight: 195 lbs |27 years old, 95 KPW, 88 KAC, 81 AWR
Seth Marler is an excellent kicker with 95 kick power and 88 kick accuracy. He has the leg to attempt long field goals, and his 81 awareness gives him a strong overall profile. The presence of Josh Brown in the same class could suppress Marler's market, as teams willing to invest heavily at kicker may focus on the 99-overall option first. Marler could therefore become an excellent value for a club that waits. Baltimore may be able to retain him at a reasonable salary unless multiple teams miss out on Brown and redirect their offers.
Josh Brown - K
Key Ratings: 99 OVR | Age: 25 | Height: 6'0" | Weight: 202 lbs |25 years old, 94 KPW, 99 KAC, 75 AWR
Josh Brown is clearly the best specialist in the match eligible class. He is only 25 and combines 94 kick power with perfect 99 kick accuracy, giving him the ability to decide close games for many seasons. His overall rating is exceptional, but his position creates an unusual market. Teams may be reluctant to offer a contract that requires significant compensation for a kicker, even one as dependable as Brown. He should still receive the most interest of any specialist, and a contender that frequently plays close games may decide that his consistency is worth the cost.
J.R. Tolver - WR
Key Ratings: 72 OVR | Age: 25 | Height: 6'1" | Weight: 205 lbs
J.R. Tolver is the largest developmental gamble in the class. His 72 overall rating makes it unlikely that a team will offer major money or compensation, particularly with Koren Robinson, Doug Gabriel and Tyrone Calico available. Tolver's best chance to attract interest is from a club looking for inexpensive receiver depth or a specific athletic role. Tampa Bay should not face much pressure to match unless another general manager sees an underused trait that is not reflected by his overall rating.
