| PICK | TEAM | PLAYER | ANALYSIS |
| 1.01 | | CB Darrelle Revis | A 5'11" cornerback going first overall? That's how good Revis Island is in this draft and I don't think a person will blame Tim for drafting him. He's already maxed out on speed, agility, and acceleration, so it's just giving him time to play. |
| 1.02 | | LT Joe Thomas | As much crap as Brad Barber gives me for drafting offensive linemen high, he's done the same as well. Joe Thomas is the best in this class and he fills a big need for a Green Bay Packers team that needs to protect Dave Ragone. |
| 1.03 | | MLB Patrick Willis | One of the most excited prospects we've seen in a long time, Patrick Willis is going to be a stud in this league. He fits into Chicago just liked Brian Urlacher did once upon a time and should be just as strong a defender as he was. |
| 1.04 | | RT Joe Staley | This might be a bit high, but I think the Buccaneers are hoping they somehow land Joe Thomas at 4th overall. Without him, they could take a look at a receiver, but I think they go to Joe Staley, who isn't much worse than Thomas unless you care about agility. |
| 1.05 | | DT Ed Johnson | This is a new we haven't seen in many mock drafts this high, but I think the Saints may go for Ed Johnson with this pick. His high agility and decent speed pair with a solid strength. He's ready to go and fits a need in the middle of their defense. |
| 1.06 | | LT Chris Denman | Surprise, surprise -- William is a fan of the offensive line class! Well, truth be told a lot of the teams drafting in this area need an offensive line class like this as well. Denman is the third best offensive tackle in the draft and would work well in the Big Apple. |
| 1.07 | | WR Steve Smith | Wait, didn't the Panthers just trade Steve Smith? It would be comedic irony if the first player they drafted after he left was also Steve Smith, and that he plays the same position. You can't write a better story in Hollywood. |
| 1.08 | | WR Calvin Johnson | First off, I think he is going to have a very nice skew (and that strength rating looks really good). Secondly, I don't think GM Brad Barber will be able to help himself when he sees this sexy name still on the board. |
| 1.09 | | WR Dwayne Bowe | McNabb's window is closing so it's time for the Lions to get him the weapons he needs to win them a title right now. Bowe is a good wide receiver and with a good skew, may actually be the best in the class. Only time will tell. |
| 1.10 | | WR Ryne Robinson | I do think Detroit doubles down here on receivers. Bowe is tall, whereas Ryne Robinson is a burner gadget-type receiver. It might not be a popular pick, but I think Robinson will go higher than people expect, despite his size. |
| 1.11 | | DT Clifton Ryan | Ryan just seems like a Bengal to me. He's got max strength and isn't un-athletic either. He fits a big need for the Bengals and could likely start on day one. It seems to good a fit to pass up and he ends in Cincy. |
| 1.12 | | MLB Lawrence Timmons | Yeah, I doubt this actually happens as Timmons would be a complete steal at this spot. I'd be running to the podium and so glad to draft him. He would instantly start and Zach Thomas would be traded. I like this. |
| 1.13 | | WR Jason Hill | This wide receiver class is a bit of "pick your poison". There are taller receivers, but Hill's speed looks like it'll be a difference maker in him getting drafted. I like him in this spot to Washington as he fills a need. |
| 1.14 | | TE Zach Miller | The Jets are trending up and appear to be a force to deal with, sooner more likely than later. I could see them upgrading at Tight End and my intuition tells me that Zach Miller skews up (his acceleration is the clue). |
| 1.15 | | LT Andrew Carnahan | The Ravens have moved on from Jonathan Ogden and will need to replace him. Carnaham looks to be the best "plug and play" left in this draft and should protect his quarterback well. Other OTs could be considered, but he seems most balanced. |
| 1.16 | | LOLB Brian Smith | Once again, a name we're not hearing a lot, but I think that Brian Smith could go earlier than expected. We have to remember that speed skews as un-bolded (thanks lp_export.exe), so this could go very very well. |
| 1.17 | | RT Jermon Bushrod | The Broncos are set with Dustin Rykert on the blind side, so I think they will be willing to take a risk on a player with low strength to fill their LT role. It's been proven that strength isn't as necessary on the right side. |
| 1.18 | | CB Brandon McDonald | It's a new era in San Diego and I think it gets off to a bang with an extremely smart cornerback in McDonald. While he is undersized, that's really the only complaint that new GM Matlock could have about him. |
| 1.19 | | WR James Jones | Denver will add another threat to their roster as well (when have we ever had an offseason where AF hasn't done so?). With a younger QB, getting him someone around the same age is extremely important and James Jones fits the bill nicely. |
| 1.20 | | WR Sidney Rice | This feels like an Apolo Shapiro pick. Rice is tall, young, and heaven forbid he skews amazing. If he does, no way he makes it this far. If he stays, this is about the range where I expect him to get drafted. He's a good fit for Dallas. |
| 1.21 | | WR Jacoby Jones | I do expect close to double digit receivers taken in the first round, primarily out of need than skill level. Jacoby Jones may be the last of the "potential elite" players on the board, so Atlanta takes them at this juncture. |
| 1.22 | | FS Dashon Goldson | The Jets are slowly building a superbly athletic team, just by taking the best players available. I think Goldson fits the bill here, primarily because there is no reason to select a strong safety or linebacker. |
| 1.23 | | RT Herb Taylor | The Falcons just grabbed a new receiver, so now they bolster their offensive line. Taylor is a strong offensive tackle who should develop extremely well. He probably moves to the left side, but I imagine he will be starting on day one. |
| 1.24 | | TE Greg Olsen | I'm going nostalgia-based for Carolina it seems. First I draft someone with the same name as their all-time greats, and then I mock someone to them that actually is one of their all-time greats. Olsen looks amazing and would start right away. |
| 1.25 | | LOLB Anthony Spencer | The Packers need to add talent everywhere on their roster and Spencer seems like the best player available for them at this juncture. He's a solid defender, has good size and could make the switch to DE if needed. |
| 1.26 | | LT Allen Barbre | Each OT candidate at this point has a flaw (Barbre's is his agility), but his acceleration and high awareness make up the difference. He could easily contend for a starting role on day one in the nation's capital. |
| 1.27 | | DT Chris Harris | We've gotten to the part of the draft where it's very much a crapshoot and if you like someone you go for it. Chris Harris could be a very good defensive tackle and I wouldn't be surprised to see him go around this range. |
| 1.28 | | WR Laurent Robinson | I can tell you one thing for sure: I'm going to have zero idea who the Jaguars are taking this year. That being said, I think someone like Laurent Robinson would be a good fit for them and I think he could be a key contributor. |
| 1.29 | | CB Dante Hughes | At some point we are going to have a run on cornerbacks in the draft. I'm predicting it's in the early 2nd round, but it could start around this range too. Hughes is small, but has the abilities to contribute on the right team. |
| 1.30 | | LG Arron Sears | We always talk about Rock liking his super athletic players -- which he does. However, he also values high awareness and I think someone like Arron Sears (combining his high pass and run block as well) could be whom catches his eye. |
| 1.31 | | CB Corey Graham | Like I said, we're going to have a run on cornerbacks. The next one off the board is Corey Graham, whose high awareness and potential for a solid skew make him someone everyone has to at least consider as a first round pick. |
| 1.32 | | RG Brad Banneman | Kansas City needs to shore up their offensive line if they're going to make a move in the division. Banneman isn't athletic, but he's strong and can block, which are both things that the Chiefs need long term. |
