Tried a few different offensive playbooks (BAL, Run Balanced & MIA) and tried the a few defensive playbooks (PHI, CHI & TB)… failed to find anything EARLY, it was pretty UGLY! First 3 games were against QB Matt Leinart [0-3] – once I recognized Ragone wasn’t in the line-up I changed the starting QB for GB… I’d chalk my late success [9-4] to playbooks and not the fact that Ragone was inserted to the starting line-up. If I’m being honest – I’d MUCH rather face the rookie (I dare you Brad, MAKE MY DAY). |

My God… 31 unanswered points!!!
With 1:23 remaining before halftime… the Chargers looked to have the game in hand [leading 17-10] – but with the flick of wrist, QB Tom Brady said “not so quick, my friend”. It was a DEADLY strike that killed the spirit of the Chargers… QB Tom Brady hit WR Deion Branch for a 78 yard score to tie the game 17-17 at halftime. In the 2nd half, the Patriots scored an additional 24 points while keeping the Chargers scoreless in the 3rd & 4th quarters.
That’s enough dwelling on the pain of the week 2 defeat… here’s what we liked seeing from the team:
QB Eli Manning… 2 TDs, 0 INTs, only sacked twice and a QB rtg of 91.8.
HB DeShaun Foster… averaged 4.67 yards per carry.
WRs… both Burress & Jackson has receiving TDs.
RG Brandon Moore… 7 Pancakes.
K Xavier Beitia… 4 kickoffs with 3 touchbacks.
MLB Roy Williams… 10 tackles (1 tackle for a loss).
RE Mario Willimas… 4 tackles and a sack (his 1st as a PRO).
Week 3 matchup: It’s a rematch of the 2004 Super Bowl… the Chargers travel to Green Bay WI to face the 0-2 Packers. The Packers have struggled MIGHTILY with QB play (1 TD and 8 INTs)… it’s a safe bet the Chargers will challenge the Packers to beat them through the air and LOCK down HB Ahman Green. |

WK 1: CHI 10 @ SD 24 |
The San Diego Chargers played host to the Chicago Bears... in what was a convincing victory for the home team. Typically, winning the Time of Possession and Turnover Battle set a team up for good fortune - and that was the case in this game (Chargers had an advantage of TOP of 23:25 vs 20:35 and saw the bears TO the ball 4 times vs the Chargers 1 time). The score might have been a bit more lopsided had the QB Eli Manning not tossed an INT in the Redzone.
Offensive Player of the Game: HB DeShaun Foster: 24 carries for 151 yards [6.29 avg]
Defensive Player of the Game: CB Quinten Jammer: 4 tackles, 2 INTs (TD), 1 deflection and 1 catch allowed
Honorable Mention... MLB Roy Williams had 11 tackles (1 tackle for a loss) and a deflection.
Week 2 matchup: The Chargers travel to New England to face QB Tom Brady and his Patriots... a TOUGH way to start a 2-game road trip (Packer's week 3). |

Davis sack… and eventual 3 -n- out for the Bears on their opening drive.
Manning 5 of 8 for 47… eventually, Manning throws INT well inside the 20 (no harm, Bear punt).
